Monday 17th December Year 6 Farewell Chess Update Tuesday 18th December Picnic Day st On Thursday 1 November the Chess Club finalists for th 2012 took part in a one-day tournament organised by Wednesday 19 December Talent Quest for the NSW Junior Chess League. 23 teams from 6 Students different schools participated in the challenge. All students were organised into teams of 3 and played 8 games throughout the day. Both teams enjoyed their first tournament experience and performed well on the day, particularly Team B who came 7th which consisted of David (2/3S), Annie (5/6B) & Anson (2/3S).
Well done to David (2/3S) for scoring 6 ½ out of a possible 8 points. Congratulations on a great day of competition. Mr Vaccaro Promotions News Dragon Tag Gala Grants Narwee Public school has been successful in securing two more grants to assist programs and buy resources. Day On Tuesday 23rd October, Narwee Public School The NSW State Government’s Environmental Trusts participated in the Dragon Tag Gala Day at Gannons Fund ‘Food Gardens in Schools Program’ has awarded Park. We entered 5 teams that consisted of 2 mixed us $3500.00 to purchase equipment to further develop juniors, 2 senior boys and a senior girls team. 160 Week 3 130 Oz Tag – Narwee Vs Beverly Hills 100 Juniors won 9 - 2 Seniors won 10 – 5 70 Juniors – wow, what an excellent game girls! I saw 40 some great passing and some excellent tagging. All of 10 Curr King Kook Mag you had a great game and showed a huge improvement in defence, so well done. A special mention goes to Faith (3/4C) for some brilliant tries. UNIFORM SPOT CHECK Seniors – that was your best game this year – well done girls. Your defence was solid and your attack was quick and thoughtful. Some great tagging from Aliyah (4/5F) 1900 and Jennifer (5/6R) kept the opposition chasing the 1600 whole game. A special mention goes to Courtney (5/6R) 1300 for her excellent running with the ball. 1000 700 Mr Forman 400 Boys Basketball Curr King Kook Mag Juniors lost 18 – 4 Seniors lost 28 - 24 Juniors - this was a tough game as we only had one reserve due to people being away.
