A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Mary Lou Heleringer. With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Mary Lou Heleringer, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul. WHEREAS, Mary Lou Heleringer was born on October 9, 1927, a native of Detroit, Michigan, and longtime resident of Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, and she traversed these earthly bounds on January 13, 2004; and WHEREAS, Mary Lou Heleringer was the loving daughter of Fidelis Fogarty O'Donnell and the late Leo G. O'Donnell; and she was also preceded in death by a loving son, Joseph F. Heleringer; she was the devoted wife of 53 years to Robert C. Heleringer; she was the loving mother of a son, Robert L. Heleringer, and four daughters, Margaret H. Healy of Fishers, Indiana; Nancy H. Wachs of Lexington, Kentucky; Mary Grace Westman of Hastings, Minnesota; and Diane H. Cashen of Lexington; she was the loving mother-in-law of Cindy Heleringer, Laurence Healy, William Wachs, James Westman, and Christopher Cashen; and she was the proud grandmother of Sarah, Ann, Tommy, and Philip Heleringer; Emily, Andrew, and Daniel Wachs; Jack, Martha, Theresa, Joseph, and Bobby Westman; and Henry, Peter, and Timothy Cashen; and WHEREAS, Mary Lou Heleringer was an esteemed member of the Jefferson County community, where she owned, bred, and raced Thoroughbreds, and she was a member of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association; she was a loving and caring lady, and she will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her; and WHEREAS, Mary Lou Heleringer was a devout member of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, where her funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 17, 2004; and WHEREAS, the passing of Mary Lou Heleringer has left a void that cannot be filled, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth; NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Mary Lou Heleringer, and extends to her family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy. Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Mary Lou Heleringer. Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Honorable Robert L. Heleringer, 14209 Glendower Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40245.
