Agenda Notes Opening/Welcome Welcome to Ross. In attendance: Lisa MillerWood (Principal), Norma Dwyer (Vice Principal) and Jayesh Patel (Chair) Reading Previous Minutes and Previous minutes approved by Norma Dwyer Adopting of Minutes Matters arising from previous Nil minutes PRO Grant Application has been submitted. Approval or lack thereof, will take place in September 2017. Ross Trivia - How well do you Trivia Challenge know Ross Drive Public School? Movie Night Moana This Friday, June 2nd at 6:30pm. Flyer went home on Friday, Synervoice was done for Sunday evening. We need to check computer and equipment in the gym to ensure streaming will work. Mrs. Dwyer to confirm details for streaming. What do we need to take care of before Friday? -snacks - Snacks will be purchased at Costco. 150 juice boxes and 200 bags of potato chips. Jayesh is available to help with the setup of equipment if necessary. Whole Kids ● a non-profit organization Tabled for next meeting ● support healthy eating through various programs/grants: ○ School Salad Bars Grant (application all year) ○ School Garden Grant (application Sept 1st to Oct 31st) Real Food for Real Kids (more ● a for-profit company in GTA info?) ● caters kids food to schools and child care centres Tabled for next meeting ● focus on unprocessed “real” food Company is not taking on new clients at this time nor does it service Brampton due to distance. Big Ideas for Ross Drive (BIRDs) ● School Garden Perhaps a salad garden is a good idea. Location was discussed and ideas were shared about a possibility of having one in the future. Concern is the upkeep, but conversation took place about community members helping to maintain it. New Business: Mrs. MillerWood will be presenting information about the biggest impact of the 5, 2, 1, 0 Healthy Schools Initiative on Wednesday, May 31st at Harold Brathwaite Secondary School.
