He will using his own photographs to – Alex Coupar illustrate his talk on the road bridge, just one month after the 50th Anniversary of its opening in 1966. Wednesday, “Pipers and Piping in Pipe Major Alistair Duthie will be relating the role the Great War” of the bagpipes and the stories of the some of the 23 November 2016 notable pipers from the Great War – hopefully – Alistair Duthie illustrated with examples of his own piping!

Wednesday, A.G.M. & “Living and An illustrated talk on the work of British Antarctic Working in Antarctica” Survey in the second half of the 20th Century. 25 January 2017 – Godfrey “Dog” Since 1944, the British Government has funded Holden scientific research in Antarctica. For the last 50 years this has been directed primarily via British Antarctic Survey. This talk will tell of this work, particularly as carried out by teams operating by dog sledge in remote locations in the 1970s.
