Astronomy 11 is reserved exclusively for non-science students: those who have never taken a college-level science course. In particular no student will be admitted who has taken calculus (in either high school or college) and received a grade of B or higher.
If you feel you meet this restriction, sign up for the course and, if you get in, come to the first class meeting. Enrollment is limited to 50 students, so many will not be admitted. But if past experience is any guide, your chances of getting admitted are about 50-50.
Admission to the course closes at the end of the day of the second class meeting. This is because in the past students who enrolled towards the end of the add/drop period found that they had missed much valuable material during the first two weeks of class.
NOTE: NO LAPTOPS OR CELLPHONES ARE ALLOWED IN THIS COURSE. This is because, in the past, too many students have spent their time surfing the web.
