Bio for:

Randy Breske, CSLC, CLMC, CLEP

Randy Breske started his career in the lighting management industry in 1988. Over the past 26 years he has functioned in virtually all facets of lighting management, including field service tech, service/operation management, project management, sales engineering, key account management, direct manufactures product sales representative and energy solutions specialist for a national distributor. He has engineered, designed and supervised the implementation of retrofit projects and major service contracts in an 8 State region throughout the Upper Mid-West.

Randy Breske’s time, energy and commitment to the interNational Association of Lighting Management Companies (NALMCO) has been virtually endless. In 2005, prior to his election to President, he actively served in leadership as the Chairman of the NALMCO Certification Committee including the re-write of the Certified Apprentice Lighting Technician (CALT) and Certified Senior Lighting Technician (CSLT) study guides and exams. Beginning in July of 2013, he became involved as an active member of industry experts once again tasked with the up- date/re-write of these same study guides and exams. He also invested time and travel to assist staff with NALMCO Convention site inspections and traveled independently to represent the Association on several occasions.

When elected to the office of NALMCO President in 2007 – 2008, Breske led the charge increasing the national recognition of NALMCO through a number of ways:

. In January 2007, under Breske’s leadership NALMCO sent an information letter and 50th Anniversary book to all members of Congress and the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. This information highlighted lighting-related measures established in the Energy Policy Act (new efficiency standards for lighting products, tax deductions for commercial buildings and energy efficiency standards for federal buildings). These communications resulted in the formation of the Program for Energy Efficiency through Responsible Stimulus (PEERS). He serves as Chairman for (PEERS) led by NALMCO with a goal of re-directing $16 Billion of the ARRA act’s $800 Billion towards energy efficient retrofit projects and has lead a contingent to Washington, D.C. for face-to-face meetings with various Congresspersons and Senators. . In the spring of 2007, Breske worked closely with NALMCO past presidents and representatives of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) to position NALMCO in a favorable light with IRS in matters pertaining to EPACT 2005 and Building of the 21st Century legislation. In the summer of 2007, Breske delivered a letter from NRDC and the IRS demonstrating the value of specified qualifications by obtaining a CLMC designation from NALMCO, setting NALMCO apart from the competition. . In the fall of 2007, after the hard work of other NALMCO California members before him, Breske worked closely with the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards formally recognizing the CALT and CSLT program manuals and exams as study material and preparation tools for the California Non-Residential Lighting Technician License (NRLT) program. . Breske traveled and represented NALMCO at the Hubbell Lighting media opportunity. . Breske traveled and represented NALMCO and the lighting management industry in presentations a GE’s corporate facility at Nela Park, Ohio. . Breske traveled and represented NALMCO at the Retailer Energy Alliance Supplier Summit (REA) sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Energy and the National Renewable Energies Laboratory. . Breske coordinated efforts with the editors of Energy International Quarterly magazine, a publication with readership of 50,000, to publish editorial content on NALMCO, its’ member companies and the principles of the lighting management indust, published in February 2009. Breske also invested time and energy into the improvement of internal processes for the organization (often above and beyond the call of duty):

. Breske continues to contribute articles and content for Lighting Management & Maintenance (LM&M) magazine and coordinated with staff to distribute multiple copies to allied organizations in the lighting industry. . Breske aided in the restructuring of NALMCO personnel and negotiated and renewed a multi-year contract with Association Management, Ltd. . Breske served as the point of contact with staff for the trade marking of NALMCO and all certifications marks. . Breske and the Board revised the NALMCO mission statement and bylaws to better reflect who NALMCO is and represents. . Breske and the Board expanded the involvement and size of all NALMCO committees by actively reaching out to members for participation.

While employed as a manufacturer’s representative, Breske served as an Associate Member on the NALMCO Board. His role as Mentor to all NALMCO committees keeps him involved at a very detailed level.
