Dovetail is pleased to invite you to this two hour presentation that targets practitioners who work directly with young people aged 10 - 25 years who may be using (or at risk of using) methamphetamine. For example, youth workers, alcohol and drug workers / clinicians, child safety officers, youth justice officers, residential support workers, youth support coordinators, school-based youth health nurses, indigenous health workers, mental health professionals, guidance officers, employment and vocational staff and other similar professionals are likely to benefit most from the course's content.
The training provides an overview of youth methamphetamine use including:
- Historical trends in methamphetamine use - Recent changes in methamphetamine trends across Australia - How methamphetamine works - Routes of administration - Potential risks and harms - Harm reduction for methamphetamine users - Treatment approaches to methamphetamine use - Key messages for workers engaging with people who use methamphetamine
