26.06.17 It is SPORTS WEEK this week! We look forward to seeing you for the KS1 races 9.30-10.20 Friday morning. Also for our picnic lunch followed by the round robin of sports activities in the afternoon. Please ensure team coloured T Shirts are in school with PE kits including trainers by Friday.
It’s the Welly walk on Wednesday. Please ensure children have a comfortable rucksack to carry their lunch and water in. School packed lunches will be delivered to the church so they won’t have to carry them, however it would be helpful to put a water bottle in a rucksack rather than carrying them. We will buddy up with Churchill class on the way to the church where we will have lunch. We will then walk the short journey back from the church with Nightingale class. Thank you to those who have offered to help. Anyone else wishing to join us do drop me a line or catch me after school. Trainers are recommended!
This Weeks Learning:
This week we will be finding out about sea creatures and making notes about them in preparation for making a fact file.
In Maths we will be reading the time on analogue and digital clocks to the nearest hour, half hour and for some children quarter past and quarter to times will be introduced.
In Geography we will be looking at physical features of a seaside town and introducing compass directions.
In Science we will be finding out about saving energy; we will carry out a survey to find out how much energy is being wasted around the school and how we could save energy. (This session is carried over from last week due to a revised timetable in the heatwave)
During our PE session we will be practicing for sports day.
There will be no DT this week due to Sports day on Friday.
In Art this week we will be making 3D foods for our display about healthy eating in the KS1 block.
In RE we will be recapping the main Hindu Deities.
We are going to be reflective using: The grand march by Gluseppe Verdi. In PHSE we will be reflecting on what we are good at and what we would like to improve on next year in class.
N.B: The new intake are visiting Thursday afternoon so Potters will be taught Geography and Music in the Big Potter classroom.
If anyone is able to send in a 50p donation towards the foods I am buying for the DT lessons over the next three weeks it would be much appreciated. Thank you to those who have already sent these in.
