President Application 2017 Elections

Illini Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) is searching for outstanding candidates to fill the position of president for the May 2017 – May 2017 academic year. The Executive Board will approve or deny all applications for president, and all approved candidates will be allowed to run for the position on Sunday, February 19th, at 6 PM in the English Building room 160. You should prepare a speech not to exceed three minutes in length, and prepare for questions from the general membership.

Please see the following pages for a detailed list of qualifications and expectations of the IEMS president. All qualifications must be met by the start of the fall semester of 2017.

The president will be a full member of the IEMS Officer Corps and IEMS Executive Board. The president will be required to staff three office hours per week, as well as organize and facilitate IEMS general meetings every month, Officer Corps meetings every three weeks, and Executive Board meetings every other week.

The application is due no later than Wednesday, February 8th, 2016 at 11:59 PM submitted to [email protected]. No late applications will be accepted. Applicants will be informed whether their application has been approved or denied by Sunday, February 12th.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. All applicants must be current IEMS members in good standing. 2. All applicants must have served as an Officer of IEMS for at least one year. 3. All applicants must have a current and valid State of Illinois EMT license.

EXPECTATIONS

 Oversee the four other IEMS departments: Operations, Education, Accounting, and Public Relations  Plan and lead Officer Corps meetings, Executive Board meetings, general meetings, standing committee meetings, and elections  Be the driving force and vision of the organization  Assist in problem-solving issues between departments/members  Be the main spokesperson of the organization  Work alongside the Director of Public Relations for Quad Day and other large PR events  Purchase all appreciation gifts  Check-in with each department head bi-weekly for goals and progress  Be the main contact between the IEMS Advisor and IEMS  Respond to all emails to the IEMS email account ([email protected]) in a timely manner as appropriate B. 4
