(8:45am – 9:45am) – Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace Lisa Rees, President VTFEA, Chief, Document Services Division, USCIS Office of Intake and Document Production When was the last time that you saw and felt emotion in the workplace? Emotion is what makes us who we are and it courses through us and the organizations where we work. Therefore, it is critical that we gain the skills necessary to identify emotion, use emotion to get us the results that we want, understand how emotions work, and learn to manage our emotions, and those of others, intelligently. Lisa will walk us through the 4 abilities of emotion and give you tips on how you can become more emotionally intelligent!

(9:45am – 10:45am) – Dressing for Effectiveness Nan Patrick, Clothing/Make-up Consultant This workshop will showcase a working, versatile wardrobe. Nan will incorporate different pieces of clothing including accessories and make up. Do you sometimes wonder what you should and shouldn’t wear to work? Nan will give you the tips you need to put your mind at ease. She will use a model from the audience during the make- up portion and it could be you if your name is picked.

(11:00am – 12:00pm) – Inspirational Leadership Panel Danielle Ocker, Associate Medical Center Director, Veteran’s Administration Medical Center Molly Lambert, State Director VT/NH, Rural Development, U.S. Department of Agriculture Karen Fitzgerald, Deputy Service Center Director, USCIS Vermont Service Center This Inspirational Leadership Panel consists of federal women executives leading agencies throughout Vermont. They will share their stories on how they advanced to the top in their careers, lessons learned, and give you tips for helping you meet your career goals. At the end of the session, you will have an opportunity to ask questions so start thinking of what you would like to ask these wonderful women leaders!

(1:00pm – 1:45pm) – KEYNOTE SPEAKER - Embracing Leadership and Public Speaking Fran Stoddard, Communications Consultant Fran will talk about her journey to leadership roles, overcoming the fear of public speaking, and what she learned from remarkable people she's met along the way.

(2:00pm – 2:45pm) – Understanding Disaster Psychology/Why Some Die and Others Don’t/A Modern Women’s Guide to Preparedness Russ Webster, FEMA Highlighting examples from 9/11, Tropical Storm Irene, Hurricane Sandy and the Sandy Hook elementary school tragedy, the speaker will provide practical measures and an approach to survival for emergencies and the unthinkable.

(2:45pm – 3:30pm) – Creating Balance with Meditation Pam Easterday, Student of Yoga, Writer, Inspirational Speaker, Meditation Instructor Meditation is an ingredient that when added to life creates the kind of recipe that satisfies and fulfills. It is a simple mystery only requiring the turning of your own key, your own desire and will. Millions of Americans and even entire towns are now meditating on a regular basis. They have discovered a tremendously powerful tool that can deliver peace of mind and the kind of calm balance we all crave.

(3:30pm – 4:30pm) – Financial Fitness: A Check-up for Every Woman Lisa Randall, Vermont Federal Credit Union This seminar is designed for women of all ages who want to become more financially aware and empowered. Statistically, women live longer, are more likely to be victims of fraud, earn less and need to take more leaves of absence to care for children and elderly parents. In this presentation we discuss the unique challenges faced by women, determine their current and desired financial situation, and develop checklists and goals to get in financial shape.
