Name of Day Camp: Counselor Camp Geographic Area Served: Richfield / Bloomington / Edina / S Mpls Program Outline: 3-day camp including one overnight to prepare girls to be caddies / counselors and to thank those who have been counselors in the past Goals: To ensure that our awesome caddies & counselors continue to be interested and involved in Girl Scouts and related day camps; to develop and provide the basic caddie/counselor trainings (and perhaps FA/CPR training) which our girls requested at meetings; to promote lifelong friendships between the teens in the Woodlake Service Unit; to reward the cadette and senior scouts for putting together four years of day camps Proposed Activities: possibly BAT, PAT, CPR, and/or FA training, time set aside for a meeting to continue planning a ‘summer 2006’ camp for brownies & juniors, movies, games bowling, have a guest come to do hair & nails, do a field trip to Elk River to do the ropes course & swim, identify a badge all the girls are interested in and work on achieving it Proposed Locations: Oak Grove Church: 7045 Lyndale Ave S, Richfield MN 55423 Diamond Lake Lutheran Church: 5760 Portland Avenue, Richfield Proposed Dates: July 7-9
Orientation Dates: - Site Capacity: 200 Maximum & Minimum Attendance: Min Max Brownie Girl Scouts Junior Girl Scouts 0 10 Cadette Girl Scouts 5 15 Senior Girl Scouts 5 10 Adults 2 4 Siblings 0 5 Preliminary Staffing Plan: Co-director: Laura Co-director: Sue Co-director: Jeanne First Aider: Laura *also will be involving all the cadette & senior scouts in the planning of this Straw Schedule Thursday: 2pm – 7pm 2 - 4: training #1 4 - 4:30: break 4:40 - 6: DC ’06 meeting 6 - 7: dinner & clean-up Friday: 3 - 5: training #2 5 - 5:30: brief DC ’06 meeting 5:30 - 6:30: dinner & cleanup 6:30 - 8: special guest of some sort 8 - 9: game 9: movie & lights out
Saturday: 8:30 - 9: wake up & breakfast 9 - 10: transport to field trip location (elk river?) 10 - 10:30: meet, talk, regroup 10:30 - 12: activity #1 (ropes course?) 12 - 12:30: lunch 12:30 - 1: brief DC ’06 meeting 1 - 4: activity #2 (swimming at lake barbara?) 4 - 5: transport back to Richfield, go home
General timeline for accomplishing tasks for your daycamp: - will follow dates on day camp checklist - will contact Elk River before March 1 to set up weekend - Sue is currently leading meetings for the cadettes & seniors to get ideas from them about the ’06 camp - Laura, Sue, and Jeanne will arrange activities and communicate via email
