**There will be no interviews for this position, so please fill out the application as thoroughly as possibly and clearly giving an explanation of your vision for this position and what you would like to do in this capacity**
Committee Leads will work directly with a specific Executive Board member; they will be assigned to specific duties that will improve the effectiveness of each committee and directly benefit the organization. We are looking for people who would like to significantly increase their participation and commitment to our organization and want to be leaders on campus. Please also note that committee leads are required to raise $400 and attend all committee meetings throughout the year. It is NOT a requirement to be a committee lead in order to apply for the Executive Board; this is just an opportunity to gain more experience and do more for the kids! 1. 5. For the positions that you ranked, please describe what you would like to do in these positions and how you would improve the overall committee as a whole. Position Descriptions
Business Relations: Inspiration (1): This committee lead will be charged with connecting with members of Hospital Relations and Family Relations and providing our committee with Hospital Updates, Inspirational Stories, Fun Facts, etc. This will both help to inspire the Business Relations committee and develop inter-committee relations.
Atlanta Outreach (1): Charged with the oversight of a sub-committee that will deal with relations be- tween UGA Miracle and businesses in the metro Atlanta area.
Athens Outreach (1): Charged with the oversight of a sub-committee that will deal with relations be- tween UGA Miracle and businesses in the Athens area.
Community Outreach: Morale (2): creating a Morale dance, coming up with color group wars, and getting entertainment for mini-marathons
Sponsorship (1): securing food donations for mini-marathons as well as sponsors/other materials
Media/Public Relations (1): contacting media/newspaper outlets, advertising for Community Outreach on campus, in high schools, and in the community as a whole
Family (1): contacting Miracle families and assisting with getting them involved in mini-marathons, providing inspiration for Community Outreach meetings
Community Contact (1): assisting with contacting high schools and other community organizations (such as middle schools and churches) to develop and set up new fundraisers and mini-marathons, spread awareness of UGA Miracle throughout the greater Atlanta area
Family Relations: Family Day (1): Responsible for taking charge of and planning our four family days. There will be three in the fall and one in the spring. Committee lead will help coordinate the location and agenda of the family day with the Co-Chairs.
Family Corner (1): In charge of making family corner at the marathon. This requires determining what activities will be going on there and delegating who brings what. Committee lead will outline the corner as well as the quiet room for the families.
Wall of Hope (1): A creative lead to create a re-vamped wall of hope to be in place at the marathon. Committee lead will plan the wall and help construct the wall based off the year’s theme.
Newsletter (1): In charge of sending out Newsletters to our Miracle Families to update them on UGA Miracle and all Family Relations events. Campus Relations/Inspiration (1): Liaison between our committee, other committees and the communi- ty of Athens to help inform and educate members about the Miracle children and their stories. Commit- tee lead will not only attend our meetings but also other committee meetings.
Finance: Alumni Relations (1): Charged with developing an outreach program for those who have graduated from UGA and want to continue to support UGA Miracle either monetarily or otherwise. This position requires someone with good organizational, creative skills and people skills. In addition, technological abilities are appreciated.
Finance Committee Leader (1): This very hands-on position is responsible for inspiring and engaging the Finance Committee. Applicants must be hard working and self motivated. You will be in charge of making the Finance Committee eat, sleep, and breathe Miracle through different events, initiatives, and activities.
Fundraising: Campus Fundraising (1): Organize Tate Plaza fundraisers (bake sale, general awareness, etc.) and assist in Stegeman concessions and canning.
Fundraising Encouragement (1): Responsible for bringing inspiration to the committee throughout the year and correlating with other committees to provide motivation.
"Last Minute" Committee Lead (1): In charge of planning, organizing, and executing creative fundraising efforts for the last week leading up to Dance Marathon. Planning should start at the beginning of the year, with the organization throughout the months leading up to Dance Marathon.
Hospital Relations: Inspiration (1): Provides inspiration to the Hospital Relations Committee, as well as the other committees within UGA Miracle. This will be done by sharing motivational stories, pictures, etc., and creating “Beyond the Blanket.”
Fundraising (1): Assists Hospital Relations Committee members in raising their personal totals and plans two campus-wide fundraising events, one in the fall and one in the spring, which are sponsored by Hospital Relations.
Special Events (1): In-charge of coordinating two special events at Children’s, along with managing the arts and crafts conducted at the hospital
Media: Video (1): Responsible for filming and editing all organization videos for the year
Magazine (1): Responsible for developing the magazine that we put together and release at Dance Marathon
Photography (1): Responsible for taking pictures at all UGA Miracle events and uploading to our social media pages. Morale: Fundraising (1): The objective for the Fundraising Committee Lead is to help each committee member raise their total. The Committee Lead needs to be an enthusiastic student that can inspire and engage the entire Morale Committee throughout the year to reach their total. They are also responsible for planning events to help raise money for the morale committee.
Theme Hours (1): The Theme Hours Committee Lead is responsible for creating ideas for each theme hour used during the Dance Marathon. Their objective should be getting the Morale Committee excited about the theme hours during Dance Marathon and creating videos for each theme hour to be present- ed at the Dance Marathon.
Color Group (1): - The objective is to collaborate with the nine color group captains. They must make sure that each color group captain is communicating with their color group and informing team mem- bers within the color groups about upcoming events leading to the Dance Marathon. They are also re- sponsible for creating new color group war ideas throughout the year.
Dance (1): - The Dance Committee Lead is in charge of organizing a dance committee that will choreo- graph the dance for Dance Marathon. They are responsible for teaching the dance to the Morale Com- mittee and the participants at Dance Marathon.
Family Relations (1): - Serve as a point of contact between the Morale Committee and the families we benefit. The Committee Lead will be in responsible for educating Morale about the families, and organiz- ing encouragement from Morale to the families.
Mom (1): Their objective is to create a comfortable environment for the Morale in order for the commit- tee to grow as a family and bond before the Dance Marathon. The committee lead will be in charge of planning committee activities and retreats to better create the Morale Family. The committee lead will also hold the Morale committee members accountable for coming to meetings.
Public Relations: Public Relations (1): Oversee compiling our organization newsletter to send to alumni and donors, ex- pand outreach to new advertising agencies, and take minutes and all public relations committee meet- ings.
Special Events: Special Events (3): Help the Special Events Director in the planning and implementation of each of UGA Miracle's special events. Applicants with great communications skills, event planning experience and in- terest, and organization skills are encouraged to apply. This will be a very hands-on position with a lot of responsibility, so applicants should be ready to take on this new role within UGA Miracle as an exciting leadership opportunity. Special Events Committee Leads will work very closely on all of the special events and have ownership on a specific event each semester.
Recruitment: Fundraising (1): In charge of helping individuals in the committee reach their individual goals through Stegeman, canning, and other small fundraising events. They will also help plan a fundraising event for the entire committee to put on to raise money for the entire organization. Awareness Days (1): This committee lead would help develop and execute ideas for awareness days (including set up, attendance, details, clean up).
Morale (1): They would be in charge of fostering team development, planning meetings with the exec members, and planning events for the committee bonding. Definitely needs to have an upbeat personality and can relate to many people.
