Article l - Name, Purpose, and Non-Discrimination Policy of the Organization.
Section 1: Name: The Buckeye British Club
Section 2 - Purpose: To provide an open and accepting environment to any and all Ohio State University students who share common interests related to British Culture, especially television and film.
Section 3 - Non-Discrimination Policy: This organization and its members shall not discriminate against any individual(s) for reasons of age, color, disability, gender identity or expression, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status.
Article II - Membership: Qualifications and categories of membership. The club is free to join for all Ohio State University students, faculty, and Alumni.
Article III - Organization Leadership: Titles, terms of office, type of selection, and duties of the leaders.
There are seven members that will be part of an Administrative Group, that will oversee and make decisions for the group. This group will begin as the seven founding members but in the future this will be reduced to a minimum of four. There will be three to four Administrative members of the club, who will plan meetings and events, and frequently discuss the needs and functions of the club. These member will include at least the President, Vice President, and Treasurer. There will additionally be a Web Master, who may or may not be the same person as one of the other Administrative members. Article IV - Executive Committee (if needed): Size and composition of the Committee.

Article V - Standing Committees (if needed): Names, purposes, and composition.
None.
Article VI – Method of Selecting and/or Removing Officers and Members.
Membership will be absolutely free to all provided they have a genuine interest in British culture. The officers of the group will be the seven founding members of the admin group, again eventually reduced to four. If an officer fails effectively abandons the club or a serious grievance is brought against them, then the other members of the admin group can vote unanimously to remove them. When any of the Administrative members of the admin group graduates or the post is otherwise vacated, the remaining members will nominate a successor that will be approved by the rest of the admin group. As for membership dismissal, if there is legitimate just cause against a member or legitimate complaints about their behavior, then the admin group will decide to issue a warning to them about their behavior. If the warning is not heeded, then the admin group can vote, with a majority to ask them to leave the club.
Article VII – Advisor(s) or Advisory Board: Qualification Criteria.
The responsibility of the faculty advisor will be someone who shares the same interest in British culture and who also will be able to support us and advise the Admin Board about university policy in difficult situations. If an amendment to the constitution becomes necessary, they will be consulted thereon. Beyond that, attendance or involvement is at their leisure. In order for a member to be eligible for nomination to the admin board they must have been a member for at least a year, have passionate interest in the club, and be responsible.
Article VIII – Meetings of the Organization: Required meetings and their frequency.
The club will hold weekly meetings Thursday nights at 9:00 PM.
Article IX – Method of Amending Constitution: Amendments will not be made frequently, but when they are they shall be with the knowledge of the entire Administrative group and the agreement of a majority thereof. Amendments will be announced several times over succeeding meetings so that everyone will understand it. The faculty advisor will also be consulted.
Article X – Method of Dissolution of Organization
If membership declines to none, then and only then will the group be considered dissolved. As there are no anticipated assets or debt, there will be nothing to dispose of.

Article 1 – Parliamentary Authority
The rules contained in Robert’s Rule of Order shall govern the organization in all cases to which they are applicable, and in which they are not inconsistent with the by-laws of this organization.
Article II- Membership There are no dues save for special external events that require money and people may come and go as they please. The above delineated procedure will be followed if removal of a member becomes necessary.
Article III- Election / Appointment of Government Leadership
Appointment of leadership, to the admin group, has been described above.
Article IV- Executive Committee (if needed)
The admin group shall be responsible for arranging all meetings and excursions and providing general organization for the club.
Article V- Standing Committees (if needed)
None.
Article VI - Advisor/Advisory Board Responsibilities
Expectations of the advisor in the organization (e.g., availability, meeting attendance, second signer on checks, etc.)
Article VII - Meeting Requirements
Meetings will be once a week, Thursdays at 9:00 pm at a convenient location that can change. The time may be moved if necessary and convenient.
Article VIII - Method of Amending By-Laws
The method for amending the By-Laws will be the same as for amending the constitution.
