Federal College Work Study- Library Assistant

Federal College Work Study- Library Assistant Location: Jesup Campus Department: Library, Academic Affairs Education and/or Occupational Experience: Possess a high school diploma, a GED, pass an approved ability to benefit test, or have been home-schooled. Also, FCWS student must be enrolled as a student and taking at least six credit hours at Altamaha Technical College in a technical certificate of credit, diploma, or associate degree program. Minimum Qualifications:

 Be a United States citizen, permanent resident, or other reliable classification of non-citizen

 Have a valid Social Security number

 Make Satisfactory Academic Progress for Federal Student Aid Programs

 Meet the requirements of the Federal College Work Study Program

 Register with Selective Service, if a male between the ages of 18 and 25

 Certify by signature that any funds awarded will be used solely for educational purposes

 Certify by signature that no default of any federal student loan or repayment of any federal student aid grant is owed

Key Competencies  Excellent verbal communication skills and customer service skills

 Computer skills

 Data Entry skills – Both alpha and numeric

 Ability to maintain records

 Ability to maintain and update filing system

 Ability to prepare all related reports

 Ability to operate all office equipment

Duties/Responsibilities Federal College Work Study Students may work up to but no more than 20 hours per week. This Federal College Work Study worker will be under the general supervision of Jessica Everingham and/or Robert Sloan. This FCWS worker will be responsible for:  Processes or assists in the processing of materials orders.

 Assists in the promotion of library publicity projects.

 May assist in providing library orientation sessions.

 Performs administrative/clerical duties and production functions.

 Assists library patrons in utilizing computers and software applications.  Monitors the use of and maintains supplies for library

 Performs other duties as directed by immediate supervisor

Salary: $7.25/hour

Length of Employment: Date of employment through April 30, 2013. Date may be extended based on Federal College Work Study eligibility and work performance.
