David LaCerte The State Veterans Affairs system files for benefits on behalf of veterans. There are 68 parish offices in Louisiana. The State also has five Veterans Homes in the State. He and Michael visited the one in Reserve today. It has 158 beds and have about 90-98% filled. They have complete 24 hour care. These are self-generated for War Veterans Homes. They have four times the amount of nurses than regular Homes. They have their own Pharmacy. They want their own cemetery. Camp Villerie track is a possible site for the cemetery, which has 88 acres. The grand opening will be sometime in February 2014.
Mike McNauthton Fighting VA for Veterans Mental Health. They have a 30 foot RV they use. He helps Acting Secretary David and goes places with him. He does things David is too busy to do. He can come to our meetings.
He can possibly get a UH1 from the National Guard for us.
Claude We will have the Vietnam War Wall on display next year. We would like for David and Mike to come to our Veterans Day Celebration.
Col. Frank The lady in Pensacola at the National Naval Aviation Museum said we are on the Navy list for a helicopter. Claude and he put a packet together for a tank. After months, finally someone answered the phone and they said they will review the packet. We will be on the active list for three years.
Claude Contacted the Batfish Team. He talked to Dennis and by the end of October we should have the torpedo. It may not have a head, but they will make one. It will cost us about $600.00. We hope to have it in place for the Veterans Day Celebration. It will be shipped from Reno, Naveda to Oklahoma to here.
Fred Did he find out about the Mast?
Claude No. Since David and Mike want to visit the park, if there is no further business, this meeting is adjourned.
