PRESSNOTE / JOY
Eilersen's joy with a daybed
Furniture Fair in February. As a tribute to the creative process, the sofa has been named Joy, and its non-directional shape makes it both very recognizable and quite new. Joy will go on sale in Scandinavia, Europe, the USA and Asia in April.
The Joy is a development of a daybed, with a wider seat and with the option of creating more positions with optional cushions. Jens Juul Eilersen has designed a sofa that can change its appearance and function depending on the needs and number of persons sitting on it. And the ambition has been to go all out in terms of flexibility. It can therefore be placed along a wall or as a sculpture in the middle of the room.
Eilersen is not only known for its sofas, but also for its vast selection of special cushions, specially sewn for extra comfort and flexibility. Neck bolsters and cushions of different shapes and sizes share the common feature of allowing you to sit, lie or throw back on the wide sofa.
Elegant dimensions Jens Juul Eilersen is the third generation of the house of Eilersen. All of his work as designer has been devoted to finding just the right dimensions, materials and tools and, with the Joy, he has created a new form of daybed. The 6-centimetre tall legs allow the piece to elegantly float above the floor.
The Joy has a solid but flexible frame of Scandinavian pine and is upholstered using a sandwich structure consisting of foam of varying stiffness. This makes the couch both comfortable and stable. From start to finish, the Joy is manufactured, tested and inspected in Eilersen's own factories. The Joy comes with a detachable cover and the option of upholstery consisting of one or more colours. All cushions are filled with 100% duck down. Textiles: For more information: eilersen.eu, facebook.com/eilersen, instagram.com/eilersen
