School Council Minutes

10th February 2017

The children were reminded of the projects we will be working on this year and were asked to check their DB Primary accounts for updates and dates of meetings. The group were also reminded to bring their School Council book and a pen or pencil to every meeting. It was explained that the two members from each class were responsible for asking their teacher to give them time to address their class and discuss the opinions of the other children and then bring them back to our meetings.

It has been decided that our Year 6 School Council children will be the Leadership Team and they will take charge of our meetings and projects. Chair for today is Nathan Ray.

Parent/carer parking and bad behaviour Mr Hillson will draft and email a letter to the members of the school council. We will read, edit and agree this letter at the next meeting.

AOB Some of the children are playing 18 games. Mr Hillson explained that we will advise the children that they are too young to play the games but it ultimately comes down to the choice of parents if they allow them to play.

The children were reminded to check the website to view the minutes of each meeting.

Date of next meeting 24th February 2017. We will be meeting with Grant Taylor from Basildon Council to discuss how the Memorial Park can be improved for children. We will view the suggested play equipment and the children will tell Grant if it is suitable. The children will share their ideas.
