A RESOLUTION Honoring Evangel World Prayer Center

A RESOLUTION honoring Evangel World Prayer Center. WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center is one of the largest churches in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, with a membership in excess of 9,000 believers and a unique "One Church, Two Locations" theme, occupying two primary locations at Evangel World Prayer Center, 5400 Minors Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40259 and Evangel World Prayer Conference Center, 6900 Billtown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40299, wherein state-of-the-art simulcastings of sermons are conducted each Sunday; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center founded an Outreach Ministry in 1988 known as "The Lord's Kitchen," which is now established as a separate nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code that provides free nonsectarian, nondenominational, nondiscriminatory, community-based services, without regard to an individual's color, creed, age or religious background, serving over 10,000 meals each month and providing spiritual guidance, encouragement, and emotional comfort to the poor and needy, 365 days of the year; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center founded and supports a Prison Ministry that conducts chapel services inside various prisons and jails throughout the Commonwealth, consisting of praise and worship, testimonials from volunteers and prisoners, preaching, altar calls, prayer meetings, Bible studies, courses on "Anger Control" and "Preparing for Life," regular distributions of Bibles, one-on-one ministerial counseling, cell-block and solitary confinement ministries, music concerts, spiritual revivals, a pen pal ministry, audio and video ministries, newsletters, a Christmas Stocking Project, and outreach to families of inmates; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center provides a Children's Ministry known as "Kids in Motion," in partnership with parents, which is designed to nurture the development of every part of a child's soul and body by presenting fun and exciting games, puppet shows, stage presentations, costume characters, age-appropriate Bible lessons, and Biblical stories, while recognizing God's presence and power through

energetic praise and worship; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center provides a children's ministry known as "Happy Church," for families with children from newborn babies through kindergarten age, which is designed to introduce energetic praise and worship, puppet shows, age- appropriate Bible lessons, games, arts, and crafts to young children; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center provides a Bus Ministry that makes home visits or otherwise contacts hundreds of families each week through conscientious and dedicated Bus Pastors; provides transportation for hundreds of children, ages 3 to 19, throughout Louisville Metro each Sunday; and provides treats and prizes, fun and games, Biblical lessons, and spiritual counseling to the children; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center provides a Spanish Ministry that offers worship service, Bible study, and Lifegroup opportunities to Hispanic citizens and residents throughout Louisville Metro; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center provides an extensive Media Ministry with licenses for and programs on many AM and FM radio stations in the United States and short-wave stations around the world, including: WJIE 88.5 & 93.9 FM, "Today's Best Christian Music" in Louisville, Kentucky; WBNA-TV (PAX) channel 21, "Word Alive," in Louisville, Kentucky; WVHI 1330 AM, "Today's Best Christian Talk Radio" in Evansville, Indiana; 102.3 FM, "The Voice of Liberty," in the capital city of Monrovia and the heart of Liberia, Africa; WJIE-1 short-wave, "The Voice of Jerusalem," 7.490 MHz, 24 hours a day, reaching Europe, Africa, and the Middle East; WJIE-2 short-wave, "The Voice of Faith," 13.595 MHz, 24 hours a day, reaching the Americas; KVOH-1 short-wave, "The Voice of Hope," 17.775 & 9.975 MHz, Hispanic programming reaching Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean; KVOH-2 short-wave, "The Voice of Love," 9.975 MHz, reaching Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean; and "The Voice of Hope," with an adjustable frequency, transmitting in Liberia and broadcasting each day, reaching the heart of Africa and into the Middle East; and

WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center provides a Youth Ministry that ministers to teenagers, ages 14 to 19, in a unique setting called Club J that caters to the special needs of teens through prayer, Bible study, and gospel music; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center provides a bookstore at both the Minors Lane and the Billtown Road locations, which offers church members an expansive collection of up-to-date reading materials for spiritual growth; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center enjoys an outstanding music department composed of dedicated, gifted, and talented singers who love singing praises to God; an exceptional praise and worship team; and a phenomenal team of hardworking musicians; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center provides other ministerial services to members and guests, including Men and Women Lifegroups, a 24-hour Prayer-line, a Christian-based school, Messianic services, international family services, a swimming pool, sports teams, satellite locations, special events, and national and international guests and speakers too numerous to mention; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center is managed with capable and competent satellite, youth, and staff pastors; efficient and effective facilities management, publications, and information technology personnel; proficient and profession administrative, accounting, and support staff; and sanctioned and sanctified volunteers, intercessors, and prayer partners; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center is under the spiritual leadership of Dr. Bob Rodgers, a graduate of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, and president of Word Broadcasting Network who is known for his excellent sermons and seminars on prayer and fasting; his publication of books, including: "How to be like Jesus in 40 days," "Ten Commandments of a Good Marriage," "Patterns of Prayer," and "The 21 Day Fast"; and his insight on baptism of the Holy Spirit, having ministered in over 40 nations around the world,

including South Korea, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and Africa; and WHEREAS, Evangel World Prayer Center is blessed by the dedication and commitment of Margaret Rodgers, who is the wife of Senior Pastor Dr. Bob Rodgers, is co-host of "Word Alive," and is mother of their three children: Rachel, Justin, and Jessica; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: Section 1. This honorable body does hereby express its heartfelt appreciation to Evangel World Prayer Center for its prayers and spiritual contributions to the United States of America and the citizens thereof. Section 2. This venerable institution does hereby honor Evangel World Prayer Center for its prayers and spiritual contributions to the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the inhabitants thereof. Section 3. This august association does hereby recognize Evangel World Prayer Center for its prayers and spiritual contributions to Louisville Metro, Kentucky and the residents thereof. Section 4. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Evangel World Prayer Center.

Section 5. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Dr. Bob Rodgers, Evangel World Prayer Center at 5400 Minors Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40259 and Evangel World Prayer Conference Center, 6900 Billtown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40299.
