Artful Things Custom Framing and the Under Ground Gallery Presents

Underground Gallery First Fridays Event Features Landscape Photographer

Lebanon, NH – October 24, 2006 – John A. Rush, a landscape photographer from Lyme, N.H., will be featured on Friday, Nov. 3, at Underground Gallery’s First Fridays event from 5 to 8 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.

Since moving to New England from San Francisco in 2001, first living in Vermont and now Lyme, Rush has been volunteering with the Upper Valley Land Trust (UVLT), photographing their conserved lands. “Volunteering for UVLT has allowed me to explore new areas photographically while supporting the critical work of local land conservation,” says Rush, who has been a photographer since he received a manual exposure 35 mm camera as a birthday gift.

Rush’s exhibition, titled “East by West,” will be on display the month of November. It includes UVLT photos and as well as photographic landscapes ranging from Yosemite National Park and Point Reyes National Seashore in California to Peacham, Vt. “My primary photographic interest is landscape photography, in both color and black and white,” he says. “I enjoy photographing what is a new area of the country to me and, through my photographs, I hope to present familiar objects and locations in a new or visually arresting way.”

The Underground Gallery is located at 2 Whipple Place, Suite 100, in Lebanon (right below Salt Hill Pub). First Fridays is free and open to the public. For more information, call (603) 448-5100.
