Role Title: ADMINISTRATION VOLUNTEER

Reporting to: Head of Communications Services

Volunteer role for a minimum of 3 months Public transport travel expenses reimbursed, subject to a weekly maximum Daily subsistence reimbursed, subject to a daily maximum

Description of role You will be working in our bright and friendly office, which is located in West London (close to BBC Television Centre and Westfield Shopping Centre). Working within the Communications Services department you will support the day-to-day activities of our team, particularly focusing on supporting the setting up and smooth running of our training courses and the related administration.

Role includes:

 Day to day administration support  Researching new speaker topics and identifying speakers  Assisting with the preparation of packs and booking delegates onto our training courses and events using our events database system and CRM  Assisting running of training courses including ensuring delegates are provided with refreshments and have everything they need to ensure the objectives of the day are met  Assist with using social media and our website to promote training events and share content with our audiences  Speaker liaison and assistance prior, during and after the event - thanking them and reporting customer feedback  Obtaining feedback from our events and media matching service and entering the data onto a spreadsheet  Checking databases for suitable volunteer matches for media matching service  Maintaining departmental databases  Support the department in delivery of our conferences and assist on the day as required  Assisting with any other duties required by the department This would suit someone with the following attributes:

 Good telephone manner coupled with a welcoming personality  Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and confident using email and the internet  Strong organisational and communication skills  Either experience of administrative work or proven ability to work without supervision  Interest of the communications industry would be an advantage  Can do attitude  Good attention to detail  Commitment to Media Trust’s values

We have a number of volunteers working on a range of projects across the organisation. Each volunteer has a specified role and line manager. Media Trust volunteers have a track record of moving into interesting paid opportunities in the media and charity sectors. Recent volunteers are now working in organisation such as SKY Sports, Two Hand Productions, Dow Jones, Comic Relief, Marketiiers 4dc and Media Trust.
