Archer 19 Dec. 1817 Bel Air, MD 17 Dec. 1860 At Columbia, the South Carolina Secession Convention issues a Brig. Gen. Rufus Barringer 2 Dec. 1821 resolution in favor of South Carolina seceding from the United States of America. Brig. Gen. Joseph O. Shelby 12 Dec. 1830 20 Dec. 1860 By a vote of 169-0 South Brig. Gen. The meeting was brought to order by Commander Andy Garcia at 4:15PM. Invocation was offered by Chaplain Jake Garcia The Pledge to the American Flag was led by Commander Andy Garcia The Salute to the Confederate Flag was led by Commander Andy Garcia The SCV Charge was read to the members by Commander Andy Garcia

Treasurer's Report; Not given. Treasurer not available at beginning of meeting.

Publicity Officer's Report; The Victorian Christmas event went well for the camp. A total of $42.00 was received in Lapel Pin sales and donations. Members were / are encouraged to advertise and sell the pins. Membership patches are also available to members for purchase. Home Guard patches were explained and offered to new Home Guard member, Danny Fluhart, and others present that cannot trace their heritage to a soldier in the War of Northern Aggression. The camp is researching the possibility of placing the camp pins and other items for sale in the Mudd House Museum Gift Shop. The Mudd House Museum and the Orphan Brigade Camp 2166 would both profit from this joint endeavor after the initial monies are reimbursed to Ray and Wynn Mishoe.

New Business; (1) The National Headquarters for the SCV has developed a new position that must be filled at the camp level. This new position is titled "Communications Officer". The position has been filled by Bill Rose. The purpose of this position is to disseminate information from Headquarters to the members as efficiently as possible, and to develop and maintain a relationship with other camps and divisions. (2) Commander Andy Garcia brought to the attention of the Communications Officer that our camp was not listed under the Maryland Division of camps at the Headquarters level. Bill Rose contacted 4

Executive Director, National Headquarters, Mr. Ben Sewell regarding the issue. Mr. Sewell assured the camp via email the information will be forwarded to those in charge at Headquarters for correction, but will be in touch soon to verify all is well with the listing. (3) New Home Guard Member, Danny Fluhart, gave accolades to the Orphan Brigade for their portrayal of Soldiers of the South in the War Of Northern Aggression at the Victorian Christmas event held at the Mudd House Museum. The public was impressed and enjoyed the house immensely. (4) Chaplain Jake Garcia made a motion to make the next December meeting an 'Installation of Officers Meeting' only. The motion was seconded by 1st Lt. Commander Ray Mishoe. The vote was taken and was unanimously approved by the membership. (5) Mr. Mark Jenkins comes to us as a new member of the Orphan Brigade. WELCOME ABOARD MARK !

Installation of Officers; Mr. Jake Garcia was sworn in as Chaplain of the Orphan Brigade Camp 2166. The following members were sworn in to their respective positions as officers in the Orphan Brigade Camp 2166 by Chaplain Jake Garcia;

All members and guests attended their first annual Christmas party as The Orphan Brigade in the Visitors Center at the Mudd House Museum. A wonderful time was had by all. Please allow me to wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a wonderful new year. May God bless your families beyond your imagination and bring you health, wealth, and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Le Mat Pistol. Asking $750.00 obo. Pistol lists for $899.00 at Cabela’s. Pistol is 2 years old and has had approximately 24 blank cartridges shot through it. Included in sale is a custom holster. Standard A Frame Tent:

Tent is approximately 6 years old. It was purchased from Blockade Runner Sutler. It has both front and rear doors and sod cloth. The tent comes, with Ridge Poles, upright poles, tent stakes and a tent storage bag. Tent list for $350.00 asking $250.00 firm. 6 Up Coming Events:

ANNUAL LEE/JACKSON BIRTHDAY CEREMONY SATURDAY, JANUARY 15, 2011 , 11:00 A.M. BALTIMORE, MARYLAND

General Robert Edward Lee and General Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson on the anniversary of their births, January 19, 1807 and January 21, 1824 respectively. The ceremony will also remember and honor the thousands of soldiers who served the Confederacy during the War Between the States.

The LEE / JACKSON Monument is located at Art Museum Drive and Wyman Park Drive about two blocks west of Charles Street and across from the Baltimore Museum of Art. This year we will assemble across from the monument.

Paid on street parking by credit card may be required. We cannot park on the Johns Hopkins campus and probably not on their parking lots. There is minimal free parking on side streets.

 The next SCV Maryland Division Semi-Annual Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Broadneck Library (1275 Green Holly Drive, Annapolis, MD 21409-4676) from 9 p.m. until 3 p.m. It is open to ALL members of the Maryland Division.  Also ... please forward any items to me that you wish to include on the meeting agenda for that day by 22 January 2011. That gives me time to get it organized (at least in my mind) and printed.
