To provide that service we present our products through independent representatives who have the capabilities of referring you to building, banking, design and other services at the local level. Where that local service does not exist, we provide those services from the home offices in Dandridge, Tennessee. Collectively, the Hearthstone organization has served thousands of clients over three decades in most of the 50 states (including Alaska) and in foreign countries.

Four: This planning guide contains a few selected basic designs. Be assured that this is not a limit, but merely a starting point in a very personal process. Because of our three outstanding and complementary product lines—Log Timber Frame, and Foam Core Panel Homes—Hearthstone features tremendous design flexibility. Our clients often create “hybrid” designs featuring two or more of these building systems.

In addition to the variety of homes you see in this guide, we encourage you to look at plans from many readily available sources. There are literally thousands of plans available from newsstand publications to commissioned architects. Many of the plans you might like are easily adapted to our building systems.

To get the process started, we recommend that you call your Hearthstone representative and set up an appointment to begin exploring your preferences, ideas, and needs. We start with design… We’ll sit down with you to look at some ideas and start customizing your home to your requirements. Seven: designer, we are quite experienced at complementing him or her as an integrated team.

Experience with thousands of custom homes over three decades has taught us that the key to an efficient, satisfying project is in finishing your design work early so that all of the many participants in the project share a firm and common game plan. Ideally, you would start this design work about a year before you plan to move in your home, although we can move much faster if you’ve already passed that lead time. The intent of this guide is to get you started toward your preferred style of home. Although the exact home for you may not be here, we want you to look for features that you like. Then, during a visit with a Hearthstone representative (at your place or ours), you can expand on the type of home you find appealing.

Once the “look” is determined, we will help create a floor plan that reflects your needs, interests, budget, vaulted spaces, timber placement, etc. Exterior details such as siding, windows, or trim can be designed to make a home appear traditional, contemporary, or rustic. Fourteen: THE CHESAPEAKE The “house of tomorrow” is The Chesapeake, a rich blend of high tech and traditional building systems. Careful design dramatically blends structural insulated panels and a distinctive two story timber frame family center. Sixteen: THE SWANSEA Epitomizing the economy of a perfected ranch style home, this design stresses careful selection of classical details to complement the traditional appeal of a New England home. We have repeated our series of single story structures in a variety of scales – both smaller and larger. All three Hearthstone building systems – log style, timber frame and foam core panels – are easily adapted to ensure the simple elegance of this house.

Seventeen: THE VICTORIA Nineteenth century flair can be reproduced within Victorian or Craftsmen Era tradition to skillfully accommodate the empty nester without overlooking guest space.
