AREA 5 WINTER LEAGUE TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL AND DENGIE WINTER LEAGUE SHOW JUMPING AT SOMERFORD PARK FARM, HOLMES CHAPEL ROAD, SOMERFORD, nr CONGLETON, CW12 4SW SUNDAY 5th OCTOBER 2014

Class 1 - Juniors - 10 years and under - 1st round max. - 70cm/2’ 3” Class 2 - Novice - 13 years and under - 1st round max. - 75cm/2’ 6”

Class 3 - Intermediate - any age - 1st round max. - 85cm/2’ 9” Class 4 - Dengie Qualifier - any age - 1st round max. - 90cm/3’ 0” Class 5 - Open - any age - 1st round max. - 100cm/3’ 3” Class 6 - Advanced - any age - 1st round max. - 105cm/3’ 6” *Times subject to entries

1. Classes 1-3 & 5 to be run under Pony Club Team Show Jumping rules with 2 rounds and no 3rd round jump-off and in accordance with Area 5 Winter League Rules 2011 as amended to accommodate WL and non-WL teams and individuals with appropriate course changes. Points will be awarded in accordance with the Winter League Rules. 2. In the first round the whole team will jump in succession. In the second round the team members will jump one at a time, one from each team, in the order they jumped in the first round sequentially - rule 7.7 & 7.9.2. 3. Branches entering more than one team in any one class must clearly identify their Winter League Team and teams to be named to distinguish. 4. Class 4 – Dengie Qualifier to be run in accordance with Dengie Winter League Rules 2014/15 Series and will be Two-phase. See below for rules summary 5. Class 6 will be Two-phase 6. Ages as at January 1st 2014.

Team and individual rosettes to 6th place in classes 1-3 & 5. Prizes to 3rd place. Individual rosettes & prizes to 6th place in classes 4 & 6. Entry fee: £14 per competitor, per class. Cheques payable to ECBPC.

Closing dates: All entries to be submitted by Friday 26th September 2014.

Team nominations may be reserved until Tuesday 30th September 2014.

Refreshments available. Dengie Winter League Rules Summary

Preliminary Rounds are held throughout the country from 1st July to 28th February and the number of riders qualifying to go forward to one of 19 Area Competitions will be decided on a ratio basis with a minimum of four riders (and one for each additional ten riders or part thereof above 40) PROVIDED THAT they have jumped a CLEAR ROUND in the FIRST ROUND (PHASE).

NOTE: Preliminary Rounds will run in accordance with 2014 Pony Club Show Jumping Rules and the Dengie Rules 2014/2015. All Area Competitions and the Championships will run in accordance with the 2014 Pony Club Show Jumping Rules and the Dengie Rules 2014/15.

ELIGIBILITY - Open to individual Pony Club Members, but excluding any combination of horse/pony and rider that have represented their Branch at OPEN (Summer) Area qualifiers for The Pony Club Show Jumping Championships or any Rider who has competed at The Pony Club Open (Summer) Show Jumping Championships or The Pony Club Show Jumping Final at Hickstead. (This does not include any other classes held in conjunction with Area Qualifiers).

Please note non-Members of The Pony Club are allowed to compete in any Preliminary Round but must become fully paid up Members to compete at their Area Competition. CENTRE MEMBERS are invited to compete in this Competition.

JA Ponies and Grade A and B Horses registered with the BSJA in the current year or previous year of the competition are not eligible. Should a Pony or Horse upgrade during any part of the 2014/2015 series they will not be able to compete further in the Series. No rider may ride more than three horses or ponies in the same competition.

SUBSTITUTIONS - Substitutions of horse/pony or rider will not be accepted at Area Competitions or at the Championships.

SADDLERY AND DRESS - At Preliminary Round Competitions EITHER The Pony Club or B.S.J.A. Rules apply in respect of Saddlery and Dress. The Pony Club Saddlery and Dress rules apply at Area Competitions and the Championships.

PASSING DOWN THE LINE - In the event of a competitor being placed in a qualifying position at a Preliminary Round when they have already qualified for the Area Competition, the place may pass down the line PROVIDED THAT the next placed combination has jumped a CLEAR ROUND in the FIRST ROUND.

A Member may compete at Preliminary Rounds in any Area, but they MUST go to their own Area Competition.

HEALTH AND SAFETY The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present.
