Job Title: In-memoriam Giving Fundraising Executive
1. Main Purpose of Job
To work with the Head of Direct Marketing and other key internal and external stakeholders to deliver an integrated communication and stewardship programme for in- memoriam giving donors. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of appeals and activities and will ensure that all campaigns are within budget and are delivered to meet key performance indicators.
2. Position in Organisation
Reports to Head of Direct Marketing No Direct line reports Internal contacts include working alongside the Individual Giving team, Regional teams, the New Ways of Working project group and Marketing Communications External contacts include agencies and third party suppliers.

5. Qualifications
(Level 8) Educated to a degree level. Membership of a professional body by qualification e.g. IOF, CIM, IDM Evidence of continuing professional development in relevant area
6. Experience & Skills
Communication skills, both verbally and in writing including ability to write and present briefs, reports and campaigns Experience of writing creative communications and copy Experience of communicating with bereaved people Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external Persuasion, negotiation and presentation skills Prioritising and decision making skills: IT literate, including the ability to use Microsoft office including advanced Excel and Word Experience of using relationship databases Ability to work proactively and as part of an integrated fundraising team Ability to work with a wide range of individuals at senior level Ability to work with bereaved stakeholders in a sensitive and appropriate manner Experience of in-memoriam, Tribute Fund or legacy fundraising Experience of working for a Hospice based or regional charity Experience of managing multiple projects and working to tight deadlines Experience of running appeals from briefing to delivery Experience of working with external agencies and suppliers Experience of working in a fundraising or Individual Giving environment Experience of working with budgets and to key performance indicators Knowledge of legal aspects related to Fundraising – data protection, Gift Aid and best practice
Duties and Key Responsibilities

Stewardship and Relationship management (30%)
To work with key stakeholders to agree stewardship plans for in-memoriam donors whether received centrally and regionally - this will include thanking, updating on income and promoting products and events where appropriate and ensuring that adapted Customer Choice engagement opportunities are communicated to them To work with other fundraising teams, in particular the Events team, to develop adapted communication plans for participants and fundraisers who undertake activities in memory of a loved one To support the Head of Direct Marketing and Ways of Working with Healthcare project group in identifying and maximising opportunities to acquire new in-mem supporters Report on in-mem campaigns and activities and use results to inform the development of future plans including future budgets and business plans Assist with budget and business plans monitoring and evaluation To support the Head of Direct Marketing with the development of in-mem strategy
Promotional and Marketing Activities (25%) To promote the new Tribute Funds product to existing in-memoriam donors through various on and off line communication channels using both fundraising and non-fundraising opportunities To promote Tribute Funds and in-memoriam giving to other supporters across the Charity, working with key stakeholders to ensure communications and messaging complement audiences Working with key stakeholders, identify new external audiences to promote in- memoriam giving and our Tribute Funds, such as Funeral Directors To work with key stakeholders to maximise the in-memoriam giving process via our website To support the delivery of any in-memoriam giving events To attend relevant events to promote in memory giving
Managing internal and external relationships (25%)
Ensure that all activities with external agencies are integrated, complement and support the departments overall fundraising goals and Charity’s key messages and brand requirements To champion in-mem and tribute funds across the organisation Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Charity to ensure appropriate input into in-mem campaigns To work with the Ways of Working with Healthcare project as needed to promote, champion and support in-mem activities across Sue Ryder where appropriate To work collaboratively with the legacy team to promote activities across the two income streams To regularly attend and contribute to regional Fundraising Team meetings, ensuring best practices in in-mem within Sue Ryder and the sector are shared across each of the teams To visit care centres, retail shops and fundraising offices in order to support, teach and guide local staff in the art of raising funds through in-mem To develop a plan for working with volunteers to growing and promote in-memory giving
Data and Information Management (10%)
To ensure that all activities adhere to agreed Customer Care and Data and Information Management principles and guidelines. To assist in maintaining high quality data on the database, ensuring information is gathered and recorded in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and the Charity's Data Protection Policy To keep abreast of Direct Debit and Gift Aid rules and help to advise on best courses of action on compliance, ensuring that we operate within legal and best practice frameworks. Produce regular reports from the database on the performance of campaigns keeping key stakeholders up to date Collating information into comprehensive results report, at the end of campaign,
Invoice Management (5%)
Check all supplier invoices against quotes, for projects managed Maintain invoice log Monitor campaign expenditure and advise line manager of any variance in a timely fashion Assist manager with monthly updates and quarterly reforecasts to include comparisons of actual expenditure against budgeted expenditure
Other Responsibilities (5%)
To keep well informed of all Sue Ryder activity and show empathy with the service it provides Keeping abreast of latest news relating to projects and services run by the Charity to help inform stewardship activities and communications To understand and adhere to the values and objectives of Sue Ryder. Contribute to team meetings and organisational priorities Participate in any specific projects, such as technology improvements, outsourcing requirements. Carry out other associated duties as may arise, develop or be assigned in line with the broad remit of the post Assist with all back office administration tasks as required. Commitment and participation to all training and other development opportunities, which would allow you to progress within your current role, as well as allow you to progress within the organisation
