Ashes will be blessed and distributed at both Masses and at 3 pm in Dunboyne Church to facilitate parents and children coming from school. Come Holy Spirit: The Sacrament of Confirmation will be conferred by Bishop Michael Smith next Saturday. The ceremonies are at 11 am & 3 pm. We ask you to pray for the children on this important day in their young Christian lives. There will be an 8 pm Mass, in Dunboyne on Wednesdays during Lent. Trocaire: Lenten Campaign begins this week, please take a box from the Church, bring it home and put your offerings into it. Boxes will also be distributed through the schools. The Gospel in our Lives and Times: A Lenten programme for anyone who wants to deepen their prayer life. The programme is open to everyone but especially to those commissioned as Special Ministers of the Word and Eucharist, and the Ministry of Adoration. You are encouraged to avail of this opportunity to deepen your prayer life. It will take place over four Tuesday nights from 8 pm to 9.15. It begins March 15th, in the Dunboyne Castle Hotel and will continue on 22nd and 29th March and conclude on 5th April. Eucharistic Adoration takes place on Tuesday and Friday from after 9 am Mass until 8 pm in the Adoration Chapel. We pray for vocations to the priesthood in our Diocese. The Children’s Liturgy will recommence today, Sunday 6th March, in the Old School at 11.30 sharp. All school going children are welcome. Pre and post Communion split into separate groups. Road Safety Information Evening, "Protecting your child on the road": A detailed presentation on road safety packed with advice and tips on how to protect your child on the road will be given by Sgt. Jim McAllister from the Garda Road Safety Unit in the Phoenix Park. It is open to everyone living in the Dunboyne area. Tea and coffee will be served. Emphasis is on involving everyone, having fun and learning to play the game in a team atmosphere. Dunboyne Anti Litter League Group: The Meath County Council Anti Litter League starts this week & runs for 6 weeks. Last year, Dunboyne won its category in the competition beating Ashbourne into 2nd place by just one point. If you want to help keep Dunboyne litter free please join the litter league group every Monday, Wednesday & Friday for the next 6 weeks. Meet at Church Car Park at 9.20 am. Come along for an hour. Care to Drive' is a scheme operated by the Irish Cancer Society to provide free transport for patients to & from their treatment. Carefully selected and trained volunteers collect the patients from their homes and drive them to their appointments and back to their homes following these appointments. ICS are currently seeking trustworthy, reliable volunteers in the Meath area who have free weekday time to provide cancer patients with safe, comfortable and confidential transport to and from their appointments (including Beaumont hospital, Dublin). Brainwave, the Irish Epilepsy Association is holding a conference for young people (between the ages of 16yrs and 26yrs) with epilepsy. Topics will include the medical management and the emotional wellbeing for young people with epilepsy. Workshops will include one for parents. Speakers include 2 neurologists and a neuropsychologist.
