Wisconsin Life on Wisconsin Public Television Flies Out of Beloit With Glider Pilot Judy Ruprecht Wisconsin Life continues to highlight the stories of notable Wisconsinites — from Waukesha to Washburn and everywhere in between — bringing to life the humorous, surprising and sometimes emotional tales of those who call Wisconsin home. With the return of new episodes of Wisconsin Life, viewers can see all-new stories from different communities across the state. These stories include that of Judy Ruprecht, who soars above Beloit in the new episode premiering 8 p.m. Monday, July 21 on Wisconsin Public Television (WPT). As a young girl, Judy Ruprecht dreamt of flying like a bird. It wasn’t until she saw a glider plane soaring over an open field that she realized that while she couldn’t be a bird, she could at least imitate one. Ruprecht’s first encounter with a glider was the catalyst for a lifetime of “soaring.” Now, with more than 40 years of experience as a glider pilot, she is able to read the landscape to find warm air, letting her glide for extended periods of time. Tune into Wisconsin Life to take a trip in a glider and learn how Ruprecht’s passion keeps her soaring. This episode of Wisconsin Life will also feature other stories from across the state, including a stargazer who built his own planetarium, and a hula hooper whose technique is on fire … literally. Wisconsin Life is a partnership project of Wisconsin Public Television and Wisconsin Public Radio. In addition to the television program, audio reports can be heard on Wednesday and Friday at 6:35 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. during Morning Edition, and on Central Time at 4:45 on Mondays and Wednesdays.
