Creating a Weekly Sales Table

You have been hired by "Chocolates Are Us" to design a weekly sales record for customer orders. You will create your table in Microsoft Excel.

 Create a table showing: o Items For Sale o Cost of Item o Number Sold For: . Monday . Tuesday . Wednesday . Thursday . Friday o Total Sold for the Week  Use the table below as an example:

Gift Cost # Sold # Sold # Sold # Sold # Sold Total Sales Item of M T W TH F Sold ($) for Item for the Week Week Name $0.00 Number Number Number Number Number Formula Formula of Gift Name $0.00 Number Number Number Number Number Formula Formula of Gift Name $0.00 Number Number Number Number Number Formula Formula of Gift Name $0.00 Number Number Number Number Number Formula Formula of Gift Name $0.00 Number Number Number Number Number Formula Formula of Gift Name $0.00 Number Number Number Number Number Formula Formula of Gift Total Sales Formula for the Week

HINT: This works better if you set the page to Landscape.  Title your page in Row 1  Key in the column and row headings (see example above for assistance) and make them stand out: o Gift Item o Cost of Item o # Sold M o # Sold T o # Sold W o # Sold TH o # Sold F o Total Sold for Week  In the table below, you will find the items for sale. o Key in short names to keep spacing at a minimum for gift names (example: chocolate cell phone could be listed just as phone) o Key in the price of each gift under its appropriate column heading

Gift Item: Price: Chocolate Cell Phone:

$ 11.95

1 Dozen Chocolate Long Stem Roses:: $ 39.95 Chocolate Pizza:

$ 6.95

Chocolate CD:

$ 7.95

Chocolate Baby Shoes: $ 9.95 Chocolate Computer:

$ 6.95  You will now enter the number of each gift items sold per day during the week of Valentine’s in 2014. Use the table below to find the fictitious numbers you will enter as sold per day.

Number Sold on Monday Gift Item Number Sold Chocolate Phone 12 Dozen Long Stem Roses 5 Chocolate Pizza 20 Chocolate CD 35 Chocolate Baby Shoes 52 Chocolate Computer 18 Number Sold on Tuesday Gift Item Number Sold Chocolate Phone 23 Dozen Long Stem Roses 11 Chocolate Pizza 20 Chocolate CD 28 Chocolate Baby Shoes 26 Chocolate Computer 12 Number Sold on Wednesday Gift Item Number Sold Chocolate Phone 30 Dozen Long Stem Roses 16 Chocolate Pizza 28 Chocolate CD 26 Chocolate Baby Shoes 32 Chocolate Computer 33 Number Sold on Thursday Gift Item Number Sold Chocolate Phone 35 Dozen Long Stem Roses 15 Chocolate Pizza 45 Chocolate CD 55 Chocolate Baby Shoes 24 Chocolate Computer 28 Number Sold on Friday Gift Item Number Sold Chocolate Phone 30 Dozen Long Stem Roses 15 Chocolate Pizza 22 Chocolate CD 42 Chocolate Baby Shoes 38 Chocolate Computer 22

 You should now input formulas that will calculate the number of each item sold for the week of Valentine’s and the amount of sales (or money) you’re your business took in on that item for the week.  You will also need to calculate total sales for the week in a dollar figure that represents the sales of ALL products sold this week.  Finally, create an appropriate chart that shows your total sales for last Valentine’s Day week so that the owner will be able to visually see the top seller, worst seller, etc., in order to make decisions for this year’s holiday. You should include appropriate data labels, titles, legend, etc. so that the owners can tell at a glance what is happening in their business during their busiest holiday.  CHALLENGE: Include the pictures of your items in a cell in your spreadsheet.
