Key concepts/vocabulary: Types of Accents Aguda: Last syllable is strongest; word must end in consonant except N or S.

Grave: 2nd to last syllable is strongest; word must end in vowel or N or S.

Esdrújula: 3rd to last syllable is strongest; it always gets an accent.

(1) Warm-up: Los Accentos: Warm-ups should be written on same sheet of paper throughout the week, will be collected at the end of the week. For today’s warmup, count the amount of syllables in each word. Determine which type of word it is (aguda, grave, esdrujula, etc) and include or exclude an accent according to the accent rules stated above.
