MINUTES OF THE WINDSOR LOCKS HOUSING AUTHORITY
Tuesday, January 4, 2011 7:00 P.M. 120/124 Southwest Avenue Windsor Locks, CT 06096
The Windsor Locks Housing Authority met in Regular Meeting Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 120/124Southwest Avenue, Windsor Locks, CT, 06096 at 7:00 P.M., the date, time and place duly established for the holding of such meeting. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by William Hamilton, Chairman.
ROLL CALL The following were present: William Hamilton, Chairman; Gary McGuire, Vice Chairman Commissioner; John Ferrari, Commissioner; Carl Philbrick, Commissioner; Sister Helen Ryan, Tenant Commissioner; and Jaimie Mantie, Executive Director.
MINUTES Gary McGuire, Vice Chairman Commissioner; made a motion to approve the minutes seconded by John Ferrari, Commissioner; to approve the minutes of the Tuesday, December 7, 2010 meeting as mailed, said minutes were approved unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS
Update on CRT Weatherization ARRA Funding Opportunity. Jaimie Mantie, Executive Director reported the Southwest Avenue project is completed. Grove Street because it is a HUD property was not eligible; however “special permission” was given for the property to be audited and weatherized. Heat Pumps are eligible to be installed at Southwest Avenue, where they will be installed on the ground. At Grove Street it may be more difficult to install them on the roof. There is a loss of heat and air condition in the venting sleeves. Southwest Avenue has electric heat and all residents have energy assistance. CRT is looking at more in depth installation in the roofing areas. She is waiting to see the Audit findings and recommendations. This Program is a Federally Funded Grant.
Capital Fund Training for Director. Jaimie Mantie, Executive Director reported she will be attending a two day training course at Foxwoods,
1 MGM on January 25-26, 2011. It is put on by NAHRO, from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M., and lunch is provided.
Carl Philbrick, Commissioner asked if the garage is to be built. Jaimie Mantie, Executive Director stated she would rather like to see interior cameras installed at Southwest Avenue in the common areas for the safety of the residents and visitors.
Gary McGuire, Vice Chairman Commissioner asked if the bridges were completed. Ms. Mantie stated they are completed.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the meeting, upon a motion by William Hamilton, Chairman; and seconded by John Ferrari, Commissioner; the meeting was adjourned at 7:17 P.M.
