1. If you ran your own company, what type of business would you choose? Explain your choice and describe your company. Choose a name for your company. It should be unique, catchy or match your type of business. State how you came up with the name and how it fits your type of company.

2. Design a logo for your company. Above are a few good examples. Your logo should have meaning. For example, the Toyota logo is actually three hearts which symbolize care and love for your family and that the company has for its customers. The BMW logo is actually looking through a propeller into the sky, which symbolizes trying to reach your dreams. The Starbucks logo is a mermaid which symbolizes the company’s seaside roots in Seattle. Explain the meaning of your logo. 3. Make a motto for your company. Adidas uses the motto “Impossible is nothing” to motivate people to buy their product and achieve their athletic goals, no matter how high or difficult. Apple’s motto “think differently” means that people should be inventive and creative and think outside the box. McDonald’s uses the slogan “I’m lovin it” uses the word “it” to represent their food and makes people want to go to their restaurant. Explain what your motto represents.

4. Write a mission statement for your company. It should declare your company’s purpose and why it exists. It should include a general description of your business, its function, and its objectives. An example is “We are a hospitality company dedicated to providing high-quality desserts in a comfortable atmosphere for clients who seek a fun, gourmet experience outside restaurants. We intend to make enough profit to generate a fair return for our investors and to finance continued growth and development in quality products. We also maintain a friendly, fair, and creative work environment, which respects diversity, new ideas, and hard work.
