Job Description

Post: Squeezebox Assistant Salary: £6.19 per hour Hours: Various Responsible to: Walsall Operations Manager Campus: Walsall

Purpose of the post

To assist in delivering quality service in the Squeeze Box

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. To create an excellent and welcoming environment for students.

2. To serve and assist customers in a friendly & efficient manner.

3. To work with other team members to ensure a high quality of service is always provided.

4. To assist in food and drink preparation.

5. Prepare and sell alcoholic beverages

6. Restock bar fridges, optics and change beer barrels

7. To comply with hygiene and Health & Safety regulations and requirements.

8. To ensure that the Squeeze Box environment (internal & external) is clean and tidy. This includes collecting and washing utensils, cleaning and wiping tables and restocking shelves when required.

9. To handle money in accordance to set procedures and be responsible for the Union equipment, cash and assets in your care.

10. To provide customers with information about the range of services provided by the Students’ Union.

General Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Uphold the aims and objectives of UWSU and ensure these are reflected in your work.

2. Actively fulfill your responsibilities as outlined under the SU’s Health and Safety Policy.

3. To undertake any other reasonable duties deemed commensurate with the post, to ensure the smooth running of the Squeezebox.

You should be able to demonstrate in your application Essentia Desirable Tested l By ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATION Current student studying for a University of Wolverhampton  AF award WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE Strong customer service skills  AF/I Experience of handling cash/operating tills  AF/I SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good Communication skills (verbal and written)  AF/I Organisation and time management skills  AF/I Attention to detail  AF/I Honest and reliable  AF/I ADDITIONAL SKILLS & ABILITIES High level of personal presentation  AF/I Commitment to working in a student led environment  AF/I Willing to work flexible hours, including shifts with late  AF/I hours, weekdays, weeknights and weekends as necessary
