Reserving the Fire Pit at the Oaks

Reserving the fire pit at the Oaks

The fire pit was installed at the Oaks to provide an outdoor year-round gathering space for student groups, Residence Life and Greek Organizations, as well as faculty or department sponsored gatherings. We hope it will become a fond tradition on campus.

The fire pit can be reserved at no cost through the Oaks management and is available any day of the week during the established operating hours of the Dining Center.

This feature is for ambience only. It was not designed for nor can it be used as a grill, or to use any fuel other than the supplied natural gas. The fire pit will be turned on and off by the Oaks management.

Attendees are restricted to no more than 20 people unless arrangements are approved for a larger group. There must be someone from the group designated in charge of the event to ensure the safety of both the participants and the property.

All policies as outlined by University code must be followed. Alcohol is not permitted.

Since this feature is in close proximity to McDonald Residence Hall, courtesy must be extended to those residents. Any disruption to the McDonald residents will result in the cancellation of the event.

The area must be maintained in a clean manner and any materials and trash must be removed by the responsible party at the end of their event.

Procedure for reserving the fire pit:

o Reservations must be made at least one week prior to the event. o Call the manger, Chad Carper at the Oaks Dining Center 419-372-7509. o Identify the day, date, and time requested for your event. o Identify the group, purpose of the event, and the person responsible along with their BGSU Pin number and contact information. o The reservation will be placed on the Oaks calendar. o Confirm the reservation the day of the event with Magdy.
