4th April Paterson (12A) Dir. Jim Jarmusch USA/France/Germany 2016 (102m) This lush new film from Jim Jarmusch focuses on a bus driving poet (Adam Driver) in a small New Jersey town who practices his craft amidst the quiet magic of everyday life. A charming and moving film.

11th April Life, Animated (PG) Dir. Roger Ross Williams USA 2016 (92m) The inspirational story of Owen Suskind, a young man who was unable to speak as a child until he and his family discovered a unique way to communicate by immersing themselves in the world of classic Disney animated films.

25th April Toni Erdmann (15) Dir. Maren Ade Germany/Austria/Romania/Monaco 2016 (162m) A lonely prankster father visits his estranged, high-powered consultant daughter, creating a fictional alias to embarrassingly insinuate himself into her stressed corporate life.

9th May Moonlight (15) Dir. Barry Jenkins USA 2016 (111m) This critically acclaimed film (Oscar for Best Film) chronicles the life of a young black man, as he grows up gay in a rough 1980s Miami neighbourhood.

23rd May A United Kingdom (12A} Dir. Amma Asante UK/USA/Czech Republic/France 2016 (111m) The inspiring true story of Seretse Khama, the King of Bechuanaland (modern Botswana), and Ruth Williams, the London office worker he married in 1948 in the face of fierce opposition from their families and the British and South African governments.

6th June Manchester by the Sea (15) Dir. Kenneth Lonergan USA 2016 (137m) Casey Affleck stars in this critically acclaimed drama about a reclusive handyman who must face his painful past when he returns to his hometown after the death of his older brother.

20th June Hunt for the Wilderpeople (12A) Dir. Taika Waititi New Zealand/USA 2016 (101m) The hilarious and heartfelt story of the unlikely duo of a misfit kid and his grumpy foster uncle going bush in the New Zealand outback to evade child services and the law.
