Community Bank Photo Contest Winners Announced

6/23/06 - Friendship, IN – The Friendship State Bank is proud to announce the winners of their recent “Favorite Community Places” photo contest, and welcomes you to congratulate them for their talents and efforts. Kathleen Maloney, a soon-to-be 7th grader at Jac-Cen-Del Elementary won top honors with her scenic photograph, “Ripples on the Lake.” She won a new 5.1 Megapixel digital camera and a $200 U.S. Savings Bond, as the grand prize winner. The contest began during the bank’s fifth annual Kid$ave! events in April, where free disposable cameras were handed out to anyone who needed a camera for the contest. According to Kathleen, she just started getting into photography, and wants to spend a lot of time taking pictures of horses, especially young ones. The following winners received $100 U.S. Savings Bonds: Cheyenne Bogenrief, Dillsboro Elementary; Jenna Brown, South Ripley High School; Brian McCombs, South Ripley Elementary; Carlie Darnold, Pope John; Chloe Johnson, Adams Christian Daycare; Layla Johnson, Adams Christian Daycare; Carol Williams, South Ripley Elementary; Tessa Druschel, South Ripley Elementary; Abigail Baxter; Kylie Werner, South Ripley Elementary; and Shanda Walton, Rising Sun High School. The group of winners also received 5x7 framed enlargements of their winning entries.
