CHINA TOURIST MARKET - INDUSTRY ADVISORY

THE CANADA - CHINA INBOUND TOUR OPERATOR REGISTRATION PROGRAM

Did you know... That Canadian Inbound Tour Operators or Receptive Tour Operators who develop and package itineraries for groups of Chinese travellers may be required to register for the China-Canada Inbound Tour Operator Program?

That a group from China is defined as 5 or more persons?

That Chinese travellers in China should only use agencies and outbound tour operators that are on the approved China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) list?

That China Travel Agencies and Outbound Tour Operators on the CNTA list should only do business with Canadian Inbound/Receptive Tour Operators that are on the approved Canadian tour operator list ?

If not....

You need to know about this IMPORTANT REMINDER that will affect non-registered tour operators.

We would just like to remind you that in accordance with the agreement signed by the Chinese and Canadian Governments that only Canadian Inbound or Receptive Tour Operators registered with TIAC and listed by the CNTA are permitted to handle Chinese group business in Canada. TIAC has been accepted by the CNTA as the only organization in Canada that can administer the RTO registration program. We are working on a new cooperation agreement with the CNTA, which will include a commitment from both sides to strengthen and enforce the regulations outlined in the ADS agreement, particularly in regards to the use of non-registered RTO’s in Canada. (Tourism Industry Association of Canada)

Or go to TIAC's website for full details about the program and to register.
