2015 Fall Term Northeastern-TaLK & Northeastern-EPIK Timeline Northeastern Application Due Date: March 10(EPIK)/March 31(TaLK) Submit NEIU application form and required documents to the Office of International Programs (OIP) office before the deadline of March 10, 2015 for EPIK and March 31, 2015 For TaLK. The application form may be picked up at the OIP office or printed from the OIP website (http://www.neiu.edu/academics/international-programs). You will need to show your proof of passport application if you don’t have a passport at the time of the application deadline. March 10, 2015 Northeastern-EPIK Applications are due.

March 31, 2015 Northeastern-TaLK Applications are due.

May 04, 2015 Apostilled FBI Check should be completed and submitted to OIP

All original applications and documents will be sent to the TaLK and EPIK May 11 , 2015 Offices in Korea

Mandatory two Saturday Orientations at NEIU (9:00 am to 4:00 pm) June & July 2015 Tentative Dates: June 22 & July 17, 2015

Notice of Appointment and contract will be mailed to your home. With these June 10, 2014 two documents you will be able to apply for the E-2 Visa from the Korean Consulate General in Chicago

Arrange for one-way air ticket to Korea (OIP does not arrange visas/plane tickets) Entrance allowance of $1,300 will be given as a reimbursement June 11 – June 30 , 2015 during the orientation period in Korea. An Exit Allowance for your return ticket of $1,300 will be provided upon the successful completion of your contract in Korea.

E-2 Visa application should be submitted to the Korean Consulate General in July 01, 2015 Chicago (http://usa-chicago.mofa.go.kr-> select English version -> Visa Service).

August 02, 2015 (Tentative) Leave for Korea (TaLK Participants)

August 19, 2015(Tentative) Leave for Korea (EPIK Participants)

August 03, 2015 Arrive in Korea (TaLK Participants)

August 20, 2015 Arrive in Korea (EPIK Participants)

August 3 – August 28, 2015 Partake in the Central & Provincial Level Orientation Sessions (TaLK)

Aug. 20 – Aug. 28, 2015 Partake in the Central & Provincial Level Orientation Sessions (EPIK) August 29 – August 30, 2015 Settle down in your new apartment near your assigned school

August 31, 2015 Start teaching at your school

December 10, 2015 Reservation with the airline back to the United States (TaLK)

June 10, 2016 Reservation with the airline back to the United States (EPIK)

January 10, 2016 Reconfirm your return reservations. (TaLK)

July 20, 2016 Reconfirm your return reservations. (EPIK)

Your contract with the Korean Ministry of Education (KMOE) officially January 31, 2016 ends and you will receive your intern teaching certificate from the KMOE. Start preparation to return back to the U.S. as scheduled. (TaLK)
