BRITISH SHOW PONIES SOCIETY - Registration Deeping Show No 65/08.he show is affiliated to the British Show Ponies Society (“B.S.P.S”) and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in B.S.P.S. classes, whether or not members of the B.S.P.S. are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the B.S.P.S. including the disciplinary procedure, and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the B.S.P.S. This show is a qualifier for the B.S.P.S Premier League Competition.

B.S.P.S. “TRAVEL TRUST ASSOCIATION CHALLENGE” – Rule 510. A skull cap or hat and safety harness according to BSI Standard must be worn by ALL competitors in the jumping phase of Working Hunter Classes. Skull caps must have a navy blue or black cover.

BRITISH SKEWBALD AND PIEBALD ASSOCIATION. The show is a qualifier for the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF COLOUR National Championship Show 2008. To be held at The College E.C., Keysoe, Beds 23rd-25th August. ALL classes will be judged within the rules and criteria of the BSPA. (Copies of the rulebook and membership/horse registration/overstamping forms can be obtained from the show office 01354 638226 or download from wwwbspaonline.com.) All stallions 4 years and over MUST be graded, Licensed and Registered with the BSPA in order to compete. Open to members and non-members. In order to qualify all owners/handlers/riders must be members of the BSPA and all horses/ponies registered with BSPA prior to the show. BSPA qualification cards must be produced in the ring and be signed by the judge, otherwise qualification is invalid.

EQUIFEST. The show is a qualifier for the Equifest Showing Show to be held at the East of England showground on the 15th – 17th August 2008. The three highest placed exhibits in the relevant classes not already qualified will qualify.

PONIES ASSOCIATION (UK) - Affiliation No. O08/AFF/5377.

TARRA. The show is a TARRA qualifier for Wetherby registered horses. The finals will be held at the Newmarket July Course Race Meeting on 16th August 2008.

THE VETERAN HORSE SOCIETY. The show is a qualifier for The Veteran Horse Society Showing Championships. It is open to both Members & Non-Members of the Veteran Horse Society. Please note that ONLY Veteran Horse Society Members are eligible to compete in the Regional Championship. Qualification cards will ONLY be given to the first two Members with their V.H.S. membership / horse registration cards as proof of membership to the society. Class 115 APPALOOSAS MAIN REGISTER RIDDEN. Open to horses 4 years old and upwards, of any height or sex. Judge will NOT ride.

The judge has the power to transfer an animal from one section to the other and in taking this course of action THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL. Class 151 Over 138cms (not to include Exercise Carts) Class 152 138cms and Under (not to include Exercise Carts)

THE DEEPING SHOW CHALLENGE CUP awarded for the best whip from Classes 151-152.

Classes 151 - 152 are qualifiers for the 2008 OSBOURNE REFRIDGERATORS BDS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. The highest placed turnout owned and driven by a member of the British Driving Society and eligible for the following Type-sections disregarding those already qualified down to sixth place in the class will qualify for the 2008 Semi-Finals. The Championships will immediately follow the semi-finals.

Type Sections: a - Single hackney-type. d - Single country turnout o – Single turnout driven to a traditional type vehicle by a young driver aged 10 – 14 years. P - Single turnout driven to a traditional type vehicle by a young driver aged 15 – 17 years.

The best Junior Whip from Classes 151 - 152 will be awarded the B.D S. Junior Whip Rosette.

Class 153 Open Exercise Cart

First and second prize winners from Classes 151 – 153 to compete for the CHAMPIONSHIP. The Champion will receive £30 and Reserve to receive £20. The Champion will also receive the DEEPING WATERTON PARK SPORTS CUP kindly donated by MRS. VERGETTE. The highest placed animal in classes 151, 152 and 153 aged 15 to 25 years will qualify for THE VETERAN HORSE SOCIETY SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS at Arena UK on the 9th & 10th August 2008. Open to members and non-members. Rules on the qualification card. THE KELLY TODD CHALLENGE CUP will be awarded to the best Junior Whip from Classes 147 - 149.

Class 154 Concours d'Elegance - All competitors eligible. To be judged concurrently with the above classes as per Concours d'Eleance.

A CHALLENGE TROPHY plus Winner and Runner-up Rosettes will be awarded in Class 154.

To be Judged as follows: 50% condition (coat/mane/tall/feet Including shoeing/weight), 30% turnout of horse/pony (plaits/mane/tall/coat cleanliness) plus turnout of rider (clothing/boots/hat) and tack (cleanliness/fit) 20% style (overall view on short show and total picture, to include suitability of horse/pony to rider) THE SAPPHIRE CHALLENGE CUP awarded to the winner.

Class 14 EQUITATION CLASS - HORSE/PONY any height. THE MONTY EYRE CHALLENGE CUP awarded to the winner.

Class 15 FAMILY PONY 153cms and under. Pony to be of a safe and suitable nature to be ridden by most members of the family (this is not a show class and conformation will not be taken into account) THE TODDIE CHALLENGE SHIELD awarded to the winner.

Entries in Classes 17 and 18 must have competed in at least two Gymkhana Classes during the day.

THE RIVERSIDE PERPETUAL CUP and Champion and Reserve Rosette will be awarded to the competitor and pony combination gaining the most points in the 8yrs. and under (Leading rein only) age group (Classes 16, 17 and 18 not included). THE BURNSIDE PERPETUAL CUP and Champion and Reserve Rosette will be awarded to the competitor and pony combination gaining the most points in the 13yrs. and under age group (Classes 16, 17 and 18 not included). THE ROBERT REID MEMORIAL CUP and Champion and Reserve Rosette will be awarded to the competitor and pony combination gaining the most points in the Open age group (Classes 16, 17 and 18 not included). RULES OFTHE SOCIETY

The Organisers of the show have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organisers, Officials and Stewards.

A skull cap or a hat and safety harness according to BSI Standard must be worn by ALL competitors in Showjumping Classes including the jumping phase of the Working Hunter Classes and all Gymkhana Classes. Skull caps must have a navy blue or black cover

The decision of the judges is final. Disputes will be settled by members of the Committee whose decision shall be binding on all concerned.

Anyone wishing to raise an objection must deposit the sum of £20 with the secretary. This deposit will be forfeited if the objection is overruled.

The committee reserve the right to refuse an entry.

The Committee will not hold themselves responsible for any accident, loss or damage which may occur on the Showground. Neither does the Committee accept any loss or damage of exhibits from the marquees.

The decision date for all ages in all classes, unless otherwise stated, is 1st January 2007.

Exhibitors who become winners of Challenge/perpetual Cups at the Show must give security to the Committee that the Cups shall be forthcoming and delivered up in good condition, whole, uninjured and indented on or before 1st May 2008 and will also be answerable for any costs to which the Committee may be put to for their complete restoration or replacement and if required to do so, will execute or procure the execution of a bond to this eject to the satisfaction of the Committee.

All times are approximate and the Committee will not hold themselves responsible for any alterations on the day of the Show.

Ponies shown in Leading Rein Classes must be shown in Snaffle Bridles.

The committee reserve the power to eject from the Showground without being liable for any compensation, any person who interferes with the Judges or Committee during the execution of their duties, or who cause any disturbance.
