7. To consider action re trees on Far Bank (backing onto Merryman Garth) Cllr Goldspink declared a personal interest as she lived in the immediate area. Cllr Thurston outlined the problem with the self seeded trees and overgrown hedge. There was a lengthy discussion about the ownership of the trees/hedge in question and whether it was the Town Council’s responsibility to carry out any work. Members noted that a town wide tree survey would be undertaken before the end of 2017 and this area would be included in that survey.

Members’ points of information and items for the agenda 8.1 A request had been received from Children in Need for Peter Levy to set off from the Market Place in Hedon on a charity tandem bike ride on Saturday 11 November. Members supported the request so long as it did not clash with, or detract from, the two minute silence on that day. 8.2 W P Everingham & Son would clean the War Memorial in time for Remembrance Sunday (already included in budget). 8.3 Cllr Thurston requested an item on the next agenda – to discuss action re the trees and hedge on Far Bank; members agreed that this should go on an agenda when the information on boundary lines and the tree survey is to hand. 8.4 The Chairman confirmed that the work to the gate on Thorn Road was now complete. 8.5 An item to discuss renewal of lease for the Scout Hut would be put on the next agenda.
