Transition Point Three – Exit from Student Teaching

 Background check on teacher candidate by Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI)- (BANNER)

 Demonstrates an advanced (target level) of teacher candidate mastery re: state/national, and program specific teaching competencies or standards on designated program assessments as determined by final grade in student teaching (on e-portfolio Check Point 3 & not on “Transition Point” screen)

 Advanced artifacts and cover sheets or equivalent assessments as required by program to meet MoSTEP and Specialty Area Quality Indicators, the PEU Conceptual Frameworks Outcomes, and national subject competencies if required by program – ( at a minimum located on e-portfolio Check Point 2)

 Advanced clinical placement log (Student Teaching) – ( at a minimum located on e-portfolio Check Point 3)

 Teacher Candidate completes Mid-Block “Self Evaluation” (STEPS) (Reflective Comments) and includes alignment to Conceptual Framework and Mastery demonstrated on all MoSTEP (Specialty Areas, Program Specific Standards, Conceptual Framework, and General learning Outcomes (STEPS)- ( at a minimum on e-portfolio Check Point 3) – (sign off by student teacher supervisor and/or program coordinator)

 Teacher Work Samples (TWS), rubrics and scoring guides and clinical log, meet approval (STEPS)- (Reflected in Grade and e-portfolio Check Point 3)

 Student teacher evaluations (STEPS) (may include – University Supervisor observations, Cooperating Teacher weekly evaluations, student teacher mid-block, supervisor evaluations and end of block University Supervisory and Cooperating Teacher evaluations)

 Supervisor approves time sheets on student teaching submitted by teacher candidate (STEPS) – (on e-portfolio Check Point 3)

 Supervisor with input from Cooperating Teacher grades teacher candidate as at least “C” grade on Student Teaching (Teacher Certification Office)
