FTP Instructions for Internet Explorer (IE) 7 FTP Minimum Requirements 1. Client must have ability to DISABLE “PASSIVE” FTP. 2. Client must have PORT 21 Open on their firewall. If they do not, they will need to request it to be opened by their Network Administrator. 3. Client must have FTP privileges on their computer login. If they do not, they will need to request permissions to be added to their login by their IT administrators. 4. Internet Explorer is an acceptable FTP client, but MC Strategies | Elsevier cannot offer advanced troubleshooting outside of the instructions contained in this document. 5. MC Strategies | Elsevier recommends using a 3rd Party FTP client such as FileZilla for more reliable file transfers. http://filezilla-project.org/

Steps to Access an FTP site from IE 7 1. Open Internet Explorer. 2. Click Tools – Internet Options.

3. In the new popup click the top right tab label Advanced.

4. Under the “Browsing” header verify that “Enable FTP folder view (outside of Internet Explorer)” is checked:

5. Also under the “Browsing” header, verify that “Use Passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility)” is unchecked.

6. Click Apply, click OK, and then CLOSE ALL BROWSER WINDOWS .

7. Open new Browser window and type the following into the address bar and click the green Go icon or press the Enter key. ftp://app5.webinservice.com

8. IF YOU SEE THIS PAGE PROCEED TO STEP 9 – OTHERWISE GO TO STEP 10.

9. Click Page, and select Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer.

10.This opens the following window where you will need to enter your username and password that was provided.

11.Enter your username and password. Then click the Log On button and you will be directed to your FTP directory.
