2016 National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest Ohio’s Winner

Keira Burns is a 5th grade student at St. Anthony Elementary School in Dayton, Ohio. Her teacher is Mrs. Heather Bangerter.

When asked about her poster and why she created it, she said, “My poster shows an example of separation between a mother and their missing child. It shows the mother in one place but the child in another. I show the pain, but also the relief; it shows the strength but the weakness of this reunion and their love. It shows many different messages. But one strong emotion: Love! I created this poster because I love art and I like participating in art related things. I LOVE supporting good causes and helping put their message out there, to reunite families.” Keira was asked to tell a little about herself, “I was born on December 15, 2004 in Dayton, Ohio. I love art and have been drawing since I was in diapers. I have been going to St. Anthony for 6 years and am a straight A+ student.”
