The amended NICE guidelines of 2008 expect that this therapy could apply to between 2% and 15% of the Type 1 population. The SIGN guidelines to be released in March 2010 will likely recommend this as well.

CSII is increasingly becoming more common and health care professionals from all sectors of acute care will be more likely to come across patients on this therapy.
