Job Bid Development Officer Description: Location: Work Pattern: Head Office 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday - Central London Friday 37.5 hours per week Job Purpose: To respond to complex tender opportunities and re-tenders enabling Refuge to sustain existing services and achieve growth. You will work as part of a dynamic bid team identifying opportunities, developing strategies for success and producing compelling bid documentation. Responsible Business Development Manager Direct N/A to: reports:

Main duties: 1 Research national, regional and local developments which could lead to Refuge service development opportunities. 2 Understand commissioners’ requirements and market developments and use this to interpret winning themes required for compelling bid documents. 3 Gather strategic information relating to Refuge’s business plan, unique selling points, strengths and weaknesses and the external environment to contribute to a win strategy for each bid. 4 Facilitate and co-ordinate input from colleagues in Refuge during the pre- qualification, bidding and interview stages of funding bids. 5 Carry out structured and analytical interviews with operational managers and staff and draw together operational performance data in relation to winning themes for bids. 6 Produce persuasive copy that answers commissioners’ questions while capturing and communicating Refuge’s strategies, values and unique selling points. 7 Deliver persuasive presentations to commissioners that sell Refuge as a provider of

June 2015 choice. 8 Where new bids are successful, ensure a smooth transition from the development unit to the relevant operational project manager/s, with particular regard to the agreed service delivery model and the funder’s monitoring and evaluation requirements. 9 Review, interpret and evaluate pre written resources and data on a regular basis to improve bids. 10 Working closely with operational teams, visit Refuge’s accommodation and outreach services to support the engagement of service users in the development of services.

11 Visit refuge’s accommodation and outreach services to support and inform the development of services. 12 Contribute to the achievement of the bid pipeline by prioritising, planning and organising own workload, working effectively with the development bid manager and supporting other internal stakeholders to ensure that information for winning bids is delivered on time and to required quality levels.
