Dear Sir/s For the information of your Stewards, the Racing Operators and the Chief Executive of the National Horseracing Authority, in accordance with National Horseracing Authority Rule 4.2.3., I wish to submit the following report on the meeting conducted at Scottsville Racecourse on Saturday 17th November 2012. The Stipendiary Stewards Reported (DA) : LORD LEIGH (K Shea) : The winner, placed second on an Objection. Selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant .Trainer S Ferrie standing in for Trainer D Drier advised (TN). MIESQUES BALLOT (A Forbes) : Hanging in in the final straight. SHOES ‘N COMPANY (*D Dillon) : Became baulked for a clear run on a number of occasions over the final 200 metres. Jockey L Africa the rider of UNMISTAKABLYFRENCH accidentally dropped his crop at approximately the 50 metre mark. Over the final 150 metres LORD LEIGH (K Shea) hanging in shifted in carrying COMMANCHE MOON (*K de Melo) inwards and thereafter brushing COMMANCHE MOON (*K de Melo), who in turn brushed COUNTRY STRONG (A Delpech), shortly before the finish. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward which was followed by an Objection lodged by Mr L Robinson, trainer of the second placed horse COMMANCHE MOON (*K de Melo) against the winner LORD LEIGH (K Shea) on the grounds of interference in the closing stages. The Board after viewing the patrol videos from the various angles and hearing all the evidence, was of the opinion that but for the interference COMMANCHE MOON (*K de Melo) would have beaten LORD LEIGH (K Shea) and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judge’s result.

The Stipendiary Stewards Reported (RJ) : EDUCATED (A Forbes) : The winner. Selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Howells advised (TN). Shortly after the start CAMPANOLOGIST (C Orffer) jumped outwards simultaneously BLUSHING COUNTESS (A Marcus) jumped inwards resulting in SHAHDOKHT (K Shea) being squeezed out and BLUSHING COUNTESS (A Marcus) making contact with SHAHDOKHT (K Shea) and becoming unbalanced. Approaching the 1600 metre mark FUN POLICE (A Delpech) over-racing, difficult to assist shifted inwards resulting in SHAHDOKHT (K Shea) having to be eased off the heels of FUN POLICE (A Delpech). Jockey A Delpech the rider of FUN POLICE appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and advised to take more care when shifting ground in races.

ATSONIC (C Taylor) (54,40 lengths): Took no interest in running and was eased out of the race in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. FRANK ‘N HENRY (B Jacobson) (17.90 lengths) : Pulling hard in the early stages difficult to restrain and thereafter compounded in the latter stages. NITRO NORI (*K de Melo) : Placed second, declared the winner on an Objection. Selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (RJ). Jockey L Africa the rider of COOLS STYLE (11,40 lengths) reported this gelding did not act in the prevailing good to soft underfoot track conditions. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward which was following by an Objection lodged by a Stipendiary Steward on behalf of the second placed horse NITRO NORI (*K de Melo) against the winner ASSIGN THE ASSASIN (W Kennedy) on the grounds of interference and carrying NITRO NORI (*K de Melo) off a straight course in the latter stages. The Board after viewing the patrol videos from the various angles and hearing all the evidence, was of the opinion that but for the interference NITRO NORI (*K de Melo) would have beaten ASSIGN THE ASSASIN (W Kennedy) and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judge’s result.
