AURORA PUBLIC SCHOOLS ATHLETIC EMPLOYMENT UNDERSTANDING VOLUNTEER COACH

The undersigned, as a volunteer of the Aurora Public Schools, subject to the supervision and control of the building principal or other appropriate designated official of the Aurora Public Schools, do hereby waive any and all right to compensation on any basis, including any right to compensation arising from Federal Wage and Hour Law or similar state statutes as such statutes may now exist or may hereafter be amended.

This will confirm that I have volunteered to ______. I understand that I will not be paid for (Describe work) my volunteer duties. I also acknowledge that I am free to accept or reject the volunteer duties, and that regardless of my decision, there will be no impact on my paid job with the school district (assuming I have such a job).

Volunteers may not be head coaches at any level, and must always be under the direct supervision of a certified coach.

Prior to beginning this volunteer work period, the following must be completed: (1) This signed form sent to District Athletic Office (2) Complete APS School Volunteer Application and take to the APS Security Office, located at ESC 1, to have a background check done and volunteer identification badge issued.
