Joliet Public Schools District 86 Junior High School Marching Band Light Up The Holidays Parade

Roll Call: 4:45 p.m. at the Will County Building on North Chicago Street. We will be lining up on Benton, on the South side of the Will County building. Parade Route: Chicago Street south to Jefferson Street. Jefferson Street east to Scott Street, Scott Street North to the Will County Building. Parade Time: The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Parade End Time: The band will be at the end of the parade approximately 6:15 p.m. Pick up: The band will be dismissed in the parking lot at the North side of the Will County Building. Please note that there are no phones available for students to call for a ride following the parade.

Band students must report in FULL UNIFORM INCLUDING HAT– no horn cases. Please read the back of this form for additional information.

STUDENTS MUST BE PICKED UP WHEN THE BAND IS DISMISSED

Please read, complete and sign the permission form below and return to your child’s band director no later than THURSDAY NOVEMBER 18, 2012.

In Case Of Poor Weather:  If the weather is cold, students will be allowed to wear additional garments beneath their uniform, such as extra socks, extra t-shirt, etc.

 If the weather is cold, students will be allowed to wear jackets, gloves, hats, scarves, etc. over their uniforms until the band lines up to march. At that time students will need to hand off their extra garments to a parent.

 If the weather is cold, students will be allowed to wear Black Band gloves during the parade, providing they can play their instrument while wearing them. Only the Band Gloves will be accepted. Band gloves are available for purchase from any director for $3.00 a pair. Clarinet players can only wear gloves to play if the fingertips of the gloves have been cut off.

 Head wraps/ear warmers that can be worn under the band hat and are Black will be allowed if the weather is cold.

 In case of severe weather such as heavy rain or snow, or drastically cold weather, please keep the students warm in the car until a decision has been made on the band’s participation. Listen to WJOL 1340 am for possible cancellations.
