Annex Hospital Authority ’ s Hospital Redevelopment Projects in the Past Five Years

Hospital Hospital Redevelopment Project Estimates Date of Details Cluster Plan ($M) Completion (in Money-of-the- Day prices) 1. Kowloon Establishment of a 564.4 July 2005 The project scope includes: West Radiotherapy Centre and Redevelopment of the (i) demolition of the existing A&E Block of PMH; Accident and Emergency and Department at the Princess Margaret Hospital (ii) construction of a new building to accommodate a Radiotherapy Centre, an expanded and upgraded A&E Department, and the reprovisioning of other facilities in the existing A&E Block.

2. New Redevelopment and 1,666.1 December 2006 The scope of the main works includes: Territories Expansion of Pok Oi West Hospital (i) construction of a new building to accommodate 622 in-patient beds and other supporting facilities;

(ii) demolition of the Central Wing and North Wing; and

(iii) provision of a rehabilitation garden and other external landscaping. 3. New Tuen Mun Hospital 1,031.4 June 2007 The project scope includes: Territories Rehabilitation Block West (i) refurbishment of Staff Quarters Block A for decanting the existing facilities in Staff Quarters Blocks B and C to Staff Quarters Block A;

(iii) construction of a rehabilitation block on the site of Staff Quarters Blocks B and C to accommodate:

 512 convalescent/rehabilitation beds;  a day rehabilitation unit with a capacity of 155 places;  related integrated rehabilitation and social support facilities;  other facilities; and  hospital administration and other facilities to be permanently reprovisioned from Staff Quarters Blocks B and C.

4. New Prince of Wales Hospital 1,882.1 June 2010 The project involves the construction of a new block of Territories (PWH) – Extension Block (anticipated date about 800 in-patient beds at PWH for the provision of all East of completion) essential services for the acute, emergency and critical care of adult patients.

Kowloon Redevelopment of About 1,300 August 2012 The main works include: West Caritas Medical (in Money-of- Centre Phase 2 the-Day prices) (i) demolition of the existing Wai Ming Block for the construction of a new ambulatory/rehabilitation block on the same site, to accommodate 260 convalescent/rehabilitation beds, ambulatory care and clinical support facilities;

(ii) refurbishment of Wai Oi Block to accommodate facilities reprovisioned from Wai Ming Block, Wai On Block and Wai Yan Block; and

(iii) demolition of Wai On Block, Wai Yan Block and Wai Tak Block for the construction of a rehabilitation garden.

2. Kowloon Redevelopment of About 420 2014 The main works included: West Yan Chai Hospital (at the price level of September (i) Phase 1 which involves the demolition of 2006) Blocks C and D for construction of a new building to accommodate the community 3 Legislative Council Q18

(ii) Phase 2 which involves the demolition of Blocks E and F to provide landscaped area and parking facilities after the existing outpatient and associated ancillary facilities have been decanted to the new community health and wellness centre upon its completion.
