Smiths has Tillamook cheese for $3.99 for 2 lbs. Maceys has their cheese 2 for $6 for 8 oz. Which one is the better deal? Show your work and justify your answer in complete sentences. 2. Fresh Market has a sale that if you buy 5 boxes of cereal you get $5.00 off. The Mini Wheats are 15.8 oz and start at $2.49 per box. What would you pay per ounce if you were to buy only one box, 2 boxes or 5 boxes?
Allen’s Mini Wheats are 4 for $10 and the boxes are 18 ounces. How much would you pay per ounce?
Which Mini Wheats are the better deal? Allen’s or Fresh Market’s? Justify your answer using pictures and write complete sentences.
3. Dan’s grocery store is selling Cheetos for 3 for $5 and they are 9.75 ounces and Walmart is selling their Cheetos for $1.50 per bag and you get to choose the size of the bags which are 9.5 ounces and 9.75 ounces. Which Cheetos are the better buy? After you find your answer develop a formula that would work when comparing ounces. (Prices are altered from the ad below to fit this particular question. You could change the price to fit the ad.)
