We set up collection boxes in all of the MWU residence halls in hopes of catching people wanting to get rid of items as they moved back home for the summer. Our efforts were a success! We had over two car loads of donations. “The woman at the shelter said she had never seen such a large donation made by a single organization that was not during the Winter holiday season, “ said Nora Richardson, the project’s coordinator, “It was good that we could help out our surrounding community and show them that we are still thinking about them at times other than the holidays.”

The Beta Zoid 2 PLEDGING 2006

The year 2006 was a year of growth for Beta Xi chapter. Recruitment has been one of our chapter’s strengths over the last few years. We added 38 new members to our brotherhood. Managing such large pledge classes was quite a feat, but WMA Laura Treadaway conducted two of the smoothest pledge periods we’ve ever seen.

The Spring 2006 pledge class participated in many events that allowed them to get to know our brothers. These included rock climbing, bowling, a movie night and the Big Brother dinner. The pledges were also required to participate in a fundraising raffle for a new computer. Their efforts help us raise over $1000 for the chapter!

With the Fall 2006 pledge class we decided to try TOP: Bowling is always a popular something new by requiring them to participate in a pledge event. This community service event. This year they decided to run a photo was taken during book drive to send education materials to teachers the Fall 2006 pledge oversees.
