Local Volunteer Wins Prestigious Award HOUSTON – August 7, 2014 – Leslie Fletcher has received Pi Beta Phi® Fraternity for Women’s prestigious Young Alumna Achievement Award. Leslie was selected for her strong work ethic, positive attitude and her dedication to her friends and her community.

The Young Alumna Achievement Award is presented annually to an alumna who graduated college within the last 15 years and has demonstrated lifelong commitment through her involvement with a Pi Beta Phi alumnae organization, Alumnae Advisory Committee, Chapter House Corporation or other community leadership.

Leslie was a Pi Phi leader during her undergraduate years at Texas Tech University and continues to serve the Fraternity in her alumna life. Following her graduation, Leslie joined the Pi Phi Houston Alumnae Club Junior Group and served in multiple leadership roles, including: vice president finance, vice president social, vice president and then president. Pi Beta Phi alumnae clubs promote and support Fraternity philanthropic endeavors, assist collegiate chapters and offer friendship to new graduates and alumnae. Leslie worked hard to ensure all club events were well attended and today, participation in the group is at an all-time high.

Simultaneously, Leslie has demonstrated excellence in her career, taking her talent with numbers to the business world. She started her career with Comerica Bank as a senior credit analyst, participating in sales training, real estate appraisals and environmental training. A short three years later, Leslie was promoted to assistant vice president of private banking. In this role she maintains a $40+ million loan portfolio and $20+ million deposit portfolio.

Leslie is also a current board member of the Houston Texas Tech Alumni Chapter where she manages records, banking for the organization and participates in fundraisers to sponsor five scholarships each year.

“I love being part of the Pi Phi Houston Junior Group,” Leslie said. “Over the past seven years, we worked to grow our membership, create new activities and service projects and develop leadership opportunities. We also worked to connect new Houston residents with a group of friends and provide them with a sense of community. This award means all our hard work has paid off.”
